I received a call from someone claiming to be following up on my insurance directives. They mentioned that I was eligible for a compensation payout of £2000. However, things took a turn when they began asking an array of probing questions. When they requested my car registration number, I admitted I couldn’t recall it. At that point, the caller abruptly disconnected the line. It dawned on me that their inquiry about the car reg was rather suspicious, which led me to suspect that the whole conversation was a scam.

I've received four calls in the last three weeks...
The caller mentioned some accident and that they had my details.
They claim I could receive compensation of over £500! They insisted that the insurance company shared my information because I supposedly indicated interest by ticking a box.
When I asked them to stop calling, their response was baffling - they questioned why I wouldn’t want free money! They barely had any information about me.

I've now put that number on my block list...
They sound remarkably persuasive, which could easily lead someone who’s susceptible to being swayed into further discussions or actions!

Some chap rang me up, used my first name, and claimed I’d been in an accident a month prior. He mentioned my car insurance had passed my details onto them to wrap things up. When I queried him about the password I’d set up with my insurer, he was completely stumped and kept bombarding me with questions. I just kept talking over him, telling him to fetch the password from my insurance and then get back to me. He carried on regardless, so I decided to hang up in the end.

The representative I conversed with from the call centre mentioned that my car insurance had forwarded my details to them. They claimed to be a private entity specialising in accident claims and insisted on wrapping up the incident. Initially, I had created a password with my insurance provider as a means to verify the legitimacy of the caller. However, the individual seemed completely oblivious to this and proceeded to bombard me with inquiries. Feeling rather overwhelmed, I decided to terminate the call.
