11 yearsI received a rather unpleasant call from a woman who was insistent that the warranty on my Hotpoint washing machine was nearly up and we needed to go through the most economical option. She rudely demanded that I grab a pen and some paper to jot down the customer service number. When I informed her that I didn’t have a warranty, she insisted that I do, saying, "Didn’t you hear me?" I feigned agreement for the sake of the conversation. She went on about how I was supposedly paying £9.99 a month. I told her I had no knowledge of such a payment and inquired who I was paying it to and how it was being processed. She abruptly replied that I wasn’t paying them anything, which made me question her previous claim about the £9.99. To my surprise, she just hung up on me!
