When I pressed for more information, like his last name or the company he represented, he downright refused to disclose any details. He said his name was Peter and asked if I had moved my pensions. I asked which firm he’s with, he said he’s self-employed. Asked for his address, he wouldn’t say. I asked who he’s registered with, he said he doesn’t have to be. When I asked how he got my number, he said from a broker. Total SCAMMER.

Got a call on 11/11/20 from a number I didnt know. I didnt pick up and they didnt leave any voicemail either.

Conveyancing firm. A lot of folks say they’re scammers but I’m not convinced. The woman I dealt with was quite polite, and all the details matched up with when I purchased my house. I even used their site to sign up for the 10-year home protection. They did try to talk me through some things to save cash but I told them I was busy ’cause I wasn’t totally comfortable going through it.

Some bloke rang asking if I was interested in buying or selling property. He didn’t explain how they found my info and got kinda awkward when I asked for his company’s name. He said they were from Direct Detect, which I’ve never heard of. I ended up hanging up before the call finished and since then, I’ve had three calls from that same Portsmouth number, plus another from 02393871119.

They knew my name and that I’d just purchased a house. Asked if everything went ok with the conveyancing, when we’re moving in, and if we wanted any help with a mortgage advisor or life insurance. Said they might be able to save us some cash.

They called me by my name and asked if I was pleased with the conveyancing website I supposedly used when selling my house in April. I said yes, but the truth is I didn’t sell any property in April, nor have I ever gone through a conveyancing website. Strange call!
