Just a few days earlier, I had a similar experience with Scottish Power. Honestly, I’d prefer not to be bothered by these companies at all. As a Chartered Engineer, I've got a solid grasp on the energy sector, thank you very much-no need for their unsolicited guidance. They ought to realise that by harassing knowledgeable customers like myself, they're well overstepping the mark. People like me are quite capable of spotting the best offers out there without their incessant interruptions.

I picked up and they just ended the call right away, but after looking it up online, it's supposedly British Gas trying to get me to report my own meter reading. I don't do that though, as I’m disabled and can’t reach down to the meter. Honestly, I don’t think customers should have to do that anyway. It seems unfair to the meter readers who lose work because of it. My gas meter’s positioned really low and the electricity one’s up quite high, so someone has to come by and check them properly.

this morning I got a call supposedly from British Gas asking for a meter reading. When I called back, an automated voice told me to ring 0333 202 9524 to submit the reading, but on my paper bill it shows 0800 107 0224 for that. Both numbers play the exact same message tho, so I reckon the initial call was legit.
