They called me back in November and left a message, then when I rang them about it in February, someone said I'd won an iPad but it’d take a few weeks to arrive. I phoned again a couple of weeks ago and got the same story, still no sign of it. They also send me a monthly quiz for £2.50 which has really simple questions. The first bit of the text always says something like “win an iPad”.

So, I got caught out by these scammers too. O2 handed me a number to call, and when I dialled it, they sent me to a website that’s not even real. I’m on a limited pension income, so this really upset me.

So, I got caught up in a giveaway for a free iPad, but it turned out to be a mess. I received a text from a number saying something like free quiz 10.77win.co and it charges £4.50 a week! They said to text STOP to 88311 to cancel. I never agreed to pay anything and it’s been stressing me out. I’ve now blocked all premium texts on my phone, fingers crossed that’s enough to stop it. Anyone else had this?

I had to ring 0203 540 5947 as EE advised to cancel and ask for a refund. If that doesn’t work, they said to make a complaint with Phonepayplus on 0300 3030020. Also, it’s a good idea to ask your mobile network to block any third party charges on your line.

Got a message saying I’d been signed up for some Apple iPad thing (Play 77win.co/FreePlay) charging me £4.50 every week. I texted STOP. to 8831 as told. They sent back a reply confirming they got my stop request and said I’d been unsubscribed. I’m going to keep an eye on my pay as you go balance just in case they sneak any charges through later.

Had a very similar thing happen to me. My missus was on her iPad and took part in what looked like a free competition online. Next thing I know, my phone buzzes with a text: ‘FreeMsg: You’re signed up to ipad Play.77win.co/FreePlay costing £4.50 a week until you text STOP to 87066. Help? 03332026342’. Nowhere during the quick questions for the comp did it mention any charges or terms. I’m definitely going to get in touch with my mobile provider to block these payments. It’s such a blatant rip-off, I can’t believe these companies aren’t shut down yet. Proper disgusting.
