I’m not acquainted with anyone in Omagh, Northern Ireland, so this is probably a con. When I picked up, there was initially silence, and then a bloke's voice uttered ‘Hello?’ I responded with ‘Petunias?’ and he abruptly hung up. (I usually avoid answering the phone with a simple ‘Hello’ or ‘Yes?’ and prefer to say something quirky like ‘Petunias’ to throw the caller off. It appears to do the trick!)

Yup, it’s definitely V12. After some Covid struggles, I moved everything into one consolidated account. These lot won’t stop hassling me though, even though they’re supposed to sort things out with the debt consolidation firm. Are they legit? Yeah, probably. Are they being fair? Not a chance. The thing is, it’s an automated voice that gets my name all wrong - it flips my surname with my partner’s! They keep insisting that I need to ring them back urgently about my account. The catch? In the past several days, I've received two messages requesting payment for something called V12 Retail Finance, which I've never heard of. It's quite perplexing! The link they provided for making a payment was https://v12.paythru.com/t/cWlt6qcy. I must warn others: do not click that! The use of 'thru' instead of 'through' is a huge red flag for me. Additionally, the random assortment of letters at the end is totally unprofessional, especially for a company that deals with finance like V12.
