So I got a voicemail from some automated voice claiming to be the Halifax Fraud Dept and it actually mentioned my name. I called back, and the automated message said there might be fraud on my credit card and to verify the call was legit (which made me suspicious). Then they said they wouldn’t ask for personal info, but right after, they asked me for my date of birth. That’s when I just ended the call.

Looking at the messages here, it’s obvious some of them are from scammers pretending to be The Halifax. They’re NOT legit! Never answer or reply to calls or texts from this number. Reference 03330 459588: On the 28th of January 2024, which happened to be a Sunday, I received a call on my landline from this number whilst in the midst of making an online purchase. Instead of returning the call, I decided to research it on this site. Frankly, I wasn’t taken aback to find it flagged as a potential scam. I also anticipated an SMS on my mobile regarding a verification code that ultimately never came through, suggesting this might have been dodgy as well. The online merchant rejected my card and urged me to opt for another payment method, which I politely chose not to do. I intend to have a chat with the merchant about this matter in due time.
