Got calls almost daily between 8 and 9 in the morning, then again at random times like 1:30pm, 5pm, even as late as 8:45pm. This has been going on every day for the past two weeks. It's a call centre saying they're from 'Capital One', but I've never dealt with them, got no debts, and don't need a credit card. They won't say why they're ringing and despite me telling them to stop many times, even mentioning the TPS, they keep calling back the next day. The phone number they use isn’t listed anywhere on the official Capital One site. If it’s not a scam, it’s seriously annoying harassment.

Creation Finance, the folks behind the IHG credit card, have a weird way of answering calls. There's a bit of background chatter before anyone actually talks. Then they want you to fill in the second part of your personal info, but turns out, it's their debt collectors ringing about overdue payments on your card. Don’t just ignore it, or you might end up in trouble! At the very least, have a look at your card statement if you don’t pick up or skip the call.

Be careful, these scam folks can fake pretty much any phone number from any bank or credit card company. If you get a call saying it’s your bank or credit card, hang up first, make sure the line is completely clear, then ring them back using the number you already have, like the one on the back of your card. Also, don’t take out loans unless you’re sure you can pay them off.
