1 yearGot a call from a Bradford phone number, 01274 059686, but I reckon the number was faked. The person said they were calling on behalf of Openreach and started asking loads of questions about my BT contract, which felt a bit off. When I asked where exactly in Bradford they were, they said they were actually based down South and gave me these numbers: 0333 0323 333 and 01489 532369. I asked for an email to verify who they were and to confirm the details of their offer. Unsurprisingly, I haven’t got anything in writing yet, even after a few hours.BradfordOpen Reach1 yearWatch out, it's a scam! Never share your details with them.2 yearsThis is the second call I've had from someone named Ben Lamb claiming to be from "HOSTED" about the so-called "Open Reach Mandatory Digital Upgrade" and a 2025 deadline for switching over to full fibre. I'm not totally convinced about this. When I asked for a reference number, he said he didn't have one, and when I requested an email, he told me they weren't allowed to send one because of "data compliance" - which sounded a bit dodgy to me. The first time he called, I asked for more info and he just told me to "look it up online," which didn’t exactly inspire much confidence.Ben LambHOSTEDGoogle2 yearsAvoid this firm at all costs! They ring out of the blue pretending to be from BT, saying your fibre needs updating or your lines will be cut off. Then, without asking properly, they send an Openreach engineer to your home to switch your connection over to Vodafone. I reached out to Ofcom and they’re now looking into it, calling it a case of “slamming”.
