Got a text today saying there was £120 spent on iTunes and £1,360 at Homebase by the "Santander fraud team" - sounded fishy straight away. The message even showed up in my normal chat with Santander on my phone, so it felt real. I actually rang the number on the text and the woman on the other end was very convincing. Still, I decided to ring Santander back using a number I found myself, and they told me for sure it was a scam trying to rip me off.

got a text from santander about some dodgy transactions, said there was £120 spent on itunes and £1360 at homebase and to ring a number. logged into my account and found nothing unusual. definitely a scam, dont ring them!

I just got a text in my Santander thread saying there was some dodgy activity on my account involving iTunes and Homebase. Sounds like a total scam to me, so don’t share any of your info with them!

Got a call from 03330220338 claiming there was suspicious activity on my Santander card - £120 charged to iTunes and £1360 to Homebase. They said to get in touch with them straight away. I rang Santander myself and they told me it’s a scam, so definitely don’t bother calling that number. Really hope they find these bastards soon!

Received a dodgy number sending me a message that looked proper real, even popped up in my Santander texting list. I didn’t call the number on the message, instead rang the bank using the contact saved in my phone, and they said for sure it wasn’t them. Total scam alert!

Totally a scam, they’re just after your bank info. You can ring them up if you want and ask how they manage to sleep at night, but seriously, don’t hand over any other details.
