I received a rather alarming automated message initially, informing me that I had to call another number as I was under investigation by Customs and Excise. Naturally, I dialled the number they provided. Then, on a subsequent occasion, a caller informed me that there was an arrest warrant issued against me and urged me to ring a specific number. Insurance agents ringing you. It's quite straightforward really. Your number gets passed on when you fill out quotes on some comparison websites. Just BLOCK them 'cause you never agreed to get these cold calls when you submitted your details on those sites. My little tip? Tell them you're a business. That'll cost them extra and they'll usually just hang up and erase your number quickly.
