I keep getting calls from LinkFin and its obviously spam. I’ve blocked like 5 different numbers they used, but they still find ways to send texts and leave voicemails. I’ve told my phone company about these numbers but the calls just won’t stop. It’s really annoying.

I got this message recently. Tried to access the portal but all I got was a message saying no record found!! Feels like a scam or something dodgy going on. I’ve blocked the number but the same message just keeps coming through. If it was genuine they’d surely have some kind of reference number or legit info. The message says: “Hi, this is from Link Financial, we’ve been trying to contact you today. This week I got three different messages from LINKFIN, saying they want to assist me with my Bank of Scotland plc account and help me manage my finances better. They suggested starting repayments with an affordable amount and asked me to call 03330145145. Honestly, they might sound helpful, but it's a total scam. I've got no debts and definitely no account with Bank of Scotland plc. The texts don’t even show a number, so I can’t block them at all. I’d advise not to get in touch with these lot.

They kept ringing me a couple of times but I never picked up. Later, when I looked up the number, I found out it was a scam. Then, a letter from Link turned up saying I had paid too much and they wanted to give me back about £40, asking me to get in touch. I got suspicious though when I checked the phone number they wanted me to call back on and saw it was actually the same scam! Just a heads up to everyone, they’re trying to trick you by pretending to give you money back so they can grab your bank details.

I did a bit of digging into this so-called company and the first thing that popped up was a filing from Companies House, indicating that LINKFIN was officially dissolved back in April 2020. It seems they’re no longer operating. Yet, lo and behold, I received a text from them just this very day! Interestingly, Companies House categorised them as a health-related business, but it turns out they are actually engaging in debt collection practices. It appears that LINKFIN was instructed by a court order from HMRC to wind down their operations completely. What I find perplexing is how a company that was declared non-existent is still attempting to pursue debts. I suppose I’ll have to get in touch with HMRC and share my findings.

I recently received a text that read something like this: "Our records indicate that you still haven’t reached out about your account. Kindly ring us on 03330 145 145 to chat with one of our team members, mentioning the reference number XXXXXXXX. There’s no Luke here and why would I ring back when they don’t say who they are? I think the number might be a premium rate, so they’re probably making cash from the calls. I've been receiving a handful of texts from this number identified as LINK or LINKFIN, which all insist their records indicate that I've yet to reach out concerning my account. They mention a reference number, but the truth is, I owe nothing. Additionally, my phone has seen numerous calls from different numbers inquiring after a Mr Simon .........., yet I've had this mobile for about five years and haven’t the foggiest idea who he is. One of the messages claims I haven't responded to a letter they've supposedly sent, but since no letter has landed in my hands, I can only assume this is some sort of scam.
