I got this message recently. Tried to access the portal but all I got was a message saying no record found!! Feels like a scam or something dodgy going on. I’ve blocked the number but the same message just keeps coming through. If it was genuine they’d surely have some kind of reference number or legit info. The message says: “Hi, this is from Link Financial, we’ve been trying to contact you today. This week I got three different messages from LINKFIN, saying they want to assist me with my Bank of Scotland plc account and help me manage my finances better. They suggested starting repayments with an affordable amount and asked me to call 03330145145. Honestly, they might sound helpful, but it's a total scam. I've got no debts and definitely no account with Bank of Scotland plc. The texts don’t even show a number, so I can’t block them at all. I’d advise not to get in touch with these lot.

They kept ringing me a couple of times but I never picked up. Later, when I looked up the number, I found out it was a scam. Then, a letter from Link turned up saying I had paid too much and they wanted to give me back about £40, asking me to get in touch. I got suspicious though when I checked the phone number they wanted me to call back on and saw it was actually the same scam! Just a heads up to everyone, they’re trying to trick you by pretending to give you money back so they can grab your bank details.

I looked up this firm and the first result was from Companies House showing LINKFIN got dissolved back in April 2020... so it seems they aren’t even active anymore. Yet, out of nowhere, I got a text from them today. Also found out that Companies House had them down as a health-related business, but in reality, they’re debt collectors. From what I gather, HMRC forced LINKFIN to shut down by court order. So why is a company that’s supposed to be dead still hounding people for money? I reckon I’ll be giving HMRC a heads up about this.

I got a text that said something like this:

"According to our files, you haven't contacted us about your account yet. Please ring 03330 145 145 and mention reference XXXXXXXX to talk to someone from our team. Or, you could send your reference to 07800005816 using our Text Talk service."

They did have a reference number (I just took it out here), and funny enough, they spelled 'haven't' wrong.

Now they’re saying I haven’t got in touch with them yet - which I haven’t and won’t. It’s ridiculous that blocking the number doesn’t stop the messages or calls.
