The phone displayed "unknown caller"; I'm guessing it's just another pesky sales call.

Received a call from a salesperson pushing those retail till systems. I can't stand these unsolicited calls. They're so irritating!

They keep ringing me but I dont pick up, and when I finally did, I couldnt make out what they were trying to say or where they were calling from.

About three years back, I purchased a wowpos system for my business and paid over £1600 upfront. After a year, they started asking me to fork out an annual licence fee of £154 to keep using the system, which I paid for the following two years. However, I shut my business in April 2019, and now they’re demanding I pay £540 plus VAT for the next three years’ licence fee. At no point when buying the system was I told about this, nor was it mentioned in any contract. It feels like a scam with no legal ground. Recently, they started threatening me, saying if I don’t pay, they’ll pass the debt to a third-party Debt Collection Agency who’ll chase me for it. Apparently, any future talks will have to go through them, and they might add extra charges for this process.

So I got a ring from someone claiming to be from an Indian call centre, saying my POS till needed a licence renewal in just a few days. They said if I didn’t pay up, our tills wouldn’t work anymore. I asked them which POS software they were referring to and how many devices we had, but all they said was they needed to check and promised to call me back. It's been ages and no follow-up from them. Sounds like a total scam to me - caller said they were from the POS system provider.
