4 yearsIf someone rings up and starts asking for a code, that’s a huge red flag - it’s a trick to hack your phone and accounts. They’ll pretend to be from your service provider and want a One Time Password sent to your mobile. Once you give them that code, they can hack into your account, switch your password, nick your card details and personal info, and even reroute your phone number. This lets them get into your bank online too. Just don’t ever share any codes with callers, no matter what they say!4 yearsSomeone just rang me saying they were from o2, but when I asked for a verification code, they ended the call straight away.4 yearsI received a call from the number 03330115342. It was a woman with a strong Indian accent claiming she was ringing from O2. Later, it sounded like she passed the phone to a ‘supervisor’ who spoke more slowly, though I think it was just the same person. She told me they were losing lots of customers and offered a 40% discount. She asked if I was the account holder and then gave me a code, asking me to read it back. I got a bit skeptical and refused. She kept insisting that the code was all she needed to apply the discount and that no other personal details were necessary. I never gave the code and requested an email confirmation but she was quite hesitant to send anything. I’ve since checked with O2 to see if they actually made the call but I’m pretty sure it was a scam.Submit Your Own Report (0333 011 5342)
