What a load of rubbish! Got a call from a woman with a strong Indian accent saying she was with o2, saying I could get 40% off my bill. But she couldn't even call me by my name! Then she asked me for a one-time code that popped up in a text while I was still on the phone. Of course, I never gave it to her. Those codes are meant for account recovery and you should never, ever share them, not even with someone claiming to be from o2.

Somebody rang me saying they were from O2, offering a 40% cut on my bill. But they couldn’t verify any stuff about my account or what plan I’m on. I just blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from a lady claiming she was with o2 and could give me 40% off the rest of my contract. Pretty sure that’s not a thing with o2, so I just ended the call right away. Made me laugh, really.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2 offering a 40% discount. They asked me to share a code, said it was for the discount, but turns out it’s actually a recovery code for your account. Never share that with anyone, not even people saying they work for O2. I just hung up straight away. The same number rang me another four times after that.

Got a call from someone saying they were O2 offering me a discount and they even sent a code by text pretending it was from them. Don’t fall for it! Make sure you don’t share the code with anyone. Just hang up and ring O2 yourself to update your password and let them know about the scam.

Got a call from 03330065471 claiming to be from O2, saying they could give me 40% off my bill. They then sent a text with a 6 digit code and told me to put it into my phone. I didn’t trust it, so I hung up and blocked the number. Seems dodgy to me, probably some kind of scam.

Someone rang up saying they were from O2 and offering a 40% discount until the end of my contract. When I asked them to clarify what they meant, they just kept asking which network provider I used. I asked them to send the details in writing since I was suspicious. They said they had to confirm my identity first. I told them they had to put it in writing before I shared any info. They repeated they'd need to verify me. I pointed out that since they’d called me, they ought to already know who I was, then I ended the call.

I received a rather amusing call just now from someone with a thick Indian accent, attempting to entice me with a generous 40% discount on my monthly bill. When I inquired about my mobile number that’s supposedly linked to O2, I should note that I switched away from them a few years back. The poor lass was incredibly hard to comprehend, and she brought up some sort of two-step verification nonsense. At that point, I firmly said no thank you and ended the conversation. It's blatantly obvious this is a scam, isn't it?

I got a call from this number but when I picked up, no one was there. I rang back to find out who it was, and all I got was some rubbish automated voice telling me the person was busy on another call. Looking at the comments, I'm pretty sure this is just one of those scam calls.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with O2 saying I could get 40% off my bill. They kept making me wait on the line, which seemed a bit dodgy, so I just ended the call. Later, I rang O2 myself and found out it definitely wasn’t them. Watch out for these scammers!

Just like the comment above, I got a call from O2 saying I could get 40% off my plan, plus a free phone like an Apple or Samsung. But when I looked at my bill later, there was a charge for the phone they said was free! I rang O2 straight away, and they said it was a scam. They recommended I reset my account password and keep an eye on my details. Hopefully this warns a few people.

I got a call from someone named Meha claiming to be from "O2 customer services". She asked for my details pretending to be from the official O2 team and managed to get hold of my info through their website. Really dodgy scam - they somehow got my bank info, full name, date of birth and address. Very worrying stuff.

Some bloke said he was from O2, said they'd been losing loads of customers because of covid and was trying to offer me 44% off my bill. Sounded a bit dodgy to me.

Got a dodgy call claiming to be from O2 about a 40% discount deal. Obviously just a trick to get you to click a link and nick your cash. I messaged them for about 15 minutes, moaning about my awful phone signal and how my texts weren't coming through. Fingers crossed I messed up their shift and they don’t ring anyone else. If you don’t fancy wasting your time like I did, best just to hang up straight away.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, and straight away I was suspicious. The woman said she was from O2 and that I’d get some codes to verify a 40% discount related to Covid-19. She wanted me to confirm my identity using those codes. I wasn’t having any of it, so I just hung up - clearly a scam.

A caller said they were from 02 and mentioned a 40% discount, claiming it wasn’t about a new contract. They told me they’d send text messages with some codes. They even warned about scam calls which made me suspicious, so I ended the call. Afterwards, I got some texts appearing to be from 02 UK, but it still felt a bit off. If it was genuine, they could have just sent a letter to sort the discount out properly.

Got a call from a number that seemed to be based in Asia, offering me a 40% cut on my phone bill. I mentioned that I’m already with the company, and she said she was aware of that. Then I challenged her to just apply the discount straight to my account. There was a really long pause after that, really weird.

It's quite clear this is a scam. I received a call from supposed "O2 mobile" claiming they could knock 40% off my bill along with a complimentary Apple Watch, all under the pretext of COVID affecting their customer numbers and billing issues. As I’m actually with O2, I asked her to confirm my name. After three attempts with no success, I suggested she either reveal my name or take a hike. Here's hoping she gets the message!
