Right after, I got a call from someone who said his name was Martin. He claimed my payment hadn’t gone through and told me to pay again to secure the room. He sent me messages on WhatsApp, then an email with a sort code and account details, asking me to transfer the money there. I didn’t do it and instead got in touch with my brother back in the UK. Oddly, the money had left my UK bank account already. Martin kept insisting payment wasn’t successful. I told him I wouldn’t send money to a bank account since I’d done the payment online already.
