Called me. When I picked up, there was a quiet pause then a recorded voice said 'Sarah here, calling about your housing repairs.' I didn’t reply so it just stayed silent after that. I don’t have any housing issues and I don’t deal with robots, so I just ended the call. Have blocked the number now but I’m registered with TPS, so they weren’t supposed to contact me.

A bloke called me a few times sounding like he was working in some call centre, saying there were problems with O2’s coverage and customers were getting compensation as a goodwill gesture. It sounded like a robotic voice that only replied when I talked. They asked how I was and said they were Mike Williams from the housing repairs team. Then they asked if I had any problems with damp. I just hung up and blocked the number. I’ve never had anything to do with any housing repair team and this was completely irrelevant to me.

The woman who called refused to share her name or the company she was with. She wanted info about my Mercedes. She claimed I might be entitled to some money from Mercedes because of a class action lawsuit linked to emissions. She said the payout could be anywhere from £2,000 to £10,000 depending on when I bought my car, between 2007 and 2020. But she clearly didn’t know anything specific about my actual car. Feels like a total scam to me.

Complete con, claiming I owned a Mercedes Benz. Played along to see about some emissions claim. Asked where they got my details from, and they said the Mercedes dealership. Told them I never bought from a dealership nor had any service or MOT done at Mercedes, so they wouldn’t have any record of me owning the car. The woman refused to say where she’d got my info from. Told her I knew it was nonsense since I don’t own a Mercedes, then she called me an idiot and hung up 😄. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS TOTAL SCAM.
