Got a text from 0330 912 4638 earlier today at 17:38 saying: "VirginMoney: Your one time Passcode :****** for debit to (Company name) for £XXX.XX." It also said to call them on that same number if I hadn’t authorised the payment. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

On 10/05/2023 at around 7:38pm, I got a message supposedly from VirginMoney. It read something like "Your One Time Passcode NNNNNN to debit COMPANY NAME for £XXX GBP. If you didn’t authorise this, call us immediately on 0333 912 4638." Turns out, that number’s a scam. Don’t bother ringing it.

I got a message that looked like it was from Virgin Money saying something like “your one time code to take (amount) from your account to (company name). If you didn’t authorise this, call the number below.” The phone number was right at the end. I didn’t bother calling it though - instead, I rang my bank straight away using the number on my bank card. Pretty sure it was a scam trying to trick people into giving away their passcode so they can nick your cash.

Looks like a scam to me. I got a text supposedly from HSBC about some overdue payments, but something felt off. Definitely don’t trust this number!
