Got a call from a number saying there was £87 taken from my Santander account. They told me to press 1 if it wasn’t me, but I didn’t press any buttons and just hung up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Tesco Bank’s fraud team. They told me there was suspicious activity on my account, so I asked which account exactly. He said it was my Tesco Bank credit card. I told him I don’t even own a Tesco credit card, and he just cut the call right away.

I got tricked by this con artist who claimed there was a £90 charge on my account for life insurance. Weird part is, he already knew my full name and even phone numbers of my family members. Don’t know how he got hold of all that stuff, but I had no choice but to block my card straight away.

I got a couple of calls on my landline recently, but both ended pretty fast. The first one I missed cos I was slow to pick up, and the second time there was this weird noise like a fax machine, so I just put the phone down. I decided to look them up here just to be safe. I’m with Santander too, as is my son, and we never trust random calls these days. If I need to speak to my bank, I ring them directly. Watch out, scammers really will do anything to try and steal your cash.

Got a call from a bloke claiming he was calling from the Co-op bank about some dodgy charges on my debit card. He told me he’d cancel my card and send out a replacement to the address I confirmed. Then he asked if I wanted to cancel a suspicious transaction supposedly made on Apple Pay in Manchester earlier today. He mentioned I’d get a 6-digit code soon to confirm everything. Luckily, I ended the call before giving any information. I rang the bank afterwards and they told me it was definitely a scam.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from Santander, said there was an attempted payment at John Lewis. She asked if I had made it, but when I didn’t want to give out my address details or the last few digits of my card, she told me I wasn’t being helpful at all.

Just got a call about some suspicious charges on my card ending in XXXX, but it wasn’t from my actual bank. The caller claimed to be from Santander and wanted to check my address, which they already seemed to know. I told them my card’s been blocked since I spotted the scam and asked why they’re calling from a bank I don’t even have an account with. After that, I said I wasn’t going to say anything more and that I’m sorting it all out with my real bank.

Absolutely a scam. Someone called, pretending to be from Santander’s fraud department, and somehow already had loads of my personal info - my name, address, email, and even the last four digits of my card. They said there was a dodgy £1400 charge at JD Sports and asked about my credit card limit. When I mentioned I’d call Santander directly on their official number, the caller got a bit aggressive and said the slight difference in the number I had was just a problem with the phone system. They also warned me I'd be responsible for any more fraudulent spends if I didn’t cooperate. I contacted Santander myself and they confirmed it was a con. I’ve since cancelled my card.
