I received what appeared to be a genuine email from HSBC, but it’s clearly a scam. Subject: Action Required for Your Account It stated that they had put a hold on my debit card due to some ‘suspicious’ activity linked to a purchase at Argos for £449.99. The message urged me to reach out to their Fraud Prevention Team at 0330 390 5100 right away if I wasn’t familiar with that transaction. The whole thing seemed quite convincing, but I highly suspect it’s not on the level. Stay safe out there and double-check anything that looks dodgy!
