Got a message that looked like it was from Barclays saying a £499.99 payment to PayPal was refused and I should get in touch with their Fraud Prevention Team. Problem is, I’ve never even had a Barclays account, so I immediately figured it was a scam.

Got an email with the subject "Unusual Card Payment Transactions" that claimed it was from Nationwide, but it definitely wasn’t. It told me to ring their Fraud Prevention Team on 0330 390 4022 right away.

The reply email address was just [email protected] which looked super dodgy.

Total scam, watch out!

Definitely a phishing attempt, that number’s got nothing to do with Barclays. Funny thing is, I’m not even with Barclays anymore since they shut down my account last year haha.
