Some bloke who sounded fairly young told me the Government was trying to make sure all my legal papers were sorted - like wills, funeral plans, power of attorney, and those letters of wishes. We ran through everything and since I had none of it he could ‘assist’ with, he just got frustrated and ended the call. Definitely some kinda scam but he was annoyingly pushy. I had quite an unsettling experience with a caller who was rather forceful. They stated they were from a law firm - I think it was Taylor Smith - and claimed to represent the Government. The conversation began abruptly with the question, “Are your legal documents current?” referring to wills and funeral plans. They repeatedly brought up Sunlife while insisting that they weren’t trying to sell anything at all. Although the individual spoke eloquently, the nature of the call was thoroughly disconcerting. Some lady with a really thick accent called me and wouldn't say where she was ringing from. She kept telling me not to worry, and said she wasn’t trying to sell me anything, which already sounded dodgy. Then she went on about how everyone’s got to make a will and asked if I had one.
