I received a dubious email that included this phone number. Definitely feels like a scam to me!

I got an email today from something called Computer Share Plan Managers, and I have to say, it's a right con! It appeared incredibly authentic, but I'm fairly certain it's just a scam.

I recently received an email asserting that my Computershare account information had been modified, instructing me to ring a number if I disagreed. It's clearly a fraudulent message, as my details with Computershare remain exactly as they were.

I appreciate everyone coming together to highlight this fraudulent activity. Much like many other individuals, I encountered a rather convincing email today, seemingly from Computershare UK. It claimed that I had modified my account payment information (which I most certainly did not!) and urged me to ring a specific number. The email included details that could only be sourced from within Computershare, leading me to believe there might be a serious internal security lapse at their end. Given the gravity of the matter, I strongly recommend reaching out to Computershare UK directly-perhaps through their online contact form, providing all the pertinent details regarding this scam. They also encourage folks to forward any phishing emails to their dedicated reporting address ([email protected]), ideally as an attachment.

I’ve just received an identical email saying, 'Thank you for your recent request to update your payment information, etc.' The thing is, I haven't asked for anything from Computershare, although I’m indeed a customer. How on earth do these con artists have that information? Please, whatever you do, don’t call that number!

I got an email stating that my payment info on my Computershare account had been updated as I’d requested. It suggested I call a certain number if I hadn’t made such a request myself. Upon investigating, I found that the number didn’t belong to Computershare at all. A quick peek at my account revealed there were no notifications from the company. I can only conclude that this is a scam aimed at fishing for my banking information. Please be cautious!

I received an email featuring this number. It appears that Computershare has rebranded themselves as Equate Plus and are expected to be using their updated company branding for correspondence. However, the email claimed I had recently updated my email address, which is simply not the case. I'm convinced that this is nothing but a scam without a doubt. I strongly advise against engaging with this number.

On 24th July 2020, I got the following message:
"Thank you for your recent request to change your email address. We’re happy to inform you that this has been processed and our records have been modified as such.
If you haven’t put in a request to change your email address, please reach out to us on
+44 (0)330 303 5905.

To be clear, I never asked for any email update, so I suspect this is nothing more than a scam."

I recently received an email that claimed my Computershare email had been changed upon my request, along with this phone number (+44 (0)330 303 5905) for further communication if I hadn’t initiated the update. However, I couldn't find this number matched up with any official contact lines for Computershare. Like many others, I have to suspect that this could be a scam, possibly aimed at coaxing out my account information. I suggest just disregarding it.

Seems a bit dodgy, to be honest... I got an email that went something like this: Dear (not my actual name!), Cheers for reaching out about updating your email address. We're chuffed to inform you that it’s all sorted now and our system reflects this change. If you didn’t ask for a change to your email, do give us a bell at +44 (0)330 303 5905. Best wishes, The Computershare Team

I too got the identical email. It's definitely a scam, I just brushed it off. But I’m curious how they found out I even had an account with Computershare!

Just received what looks like a dodgy email from Computershare - not sure it's the real deal! It says something like: "Account update. Change of email address. Dear…; We're grateful for your recent request to change your email address. We're delighted to let you know that this has been processed and our system has been updated. If you didn’t initiate this email address change, do get in touch with us at +44 (0)330 303 5905. Best regards, The Computershare Team." Just a heads up, everyone!

I’ve just had an email land in my inbox that claims to be from Computershare, stating that I’ve asked to update my email address linked to my account. The truth is, I’ve done no such thing. It even provided a phone number to ring, which raises all sorts of alarm bells for me. Talk about a potential scam!

I recently got an email that claims to be from Computershare in Bristol, requesting me to verify some alleged payment changes-which I’m fairly certain I haven’t even initiated. They included a phone number, 0330 303 5905, for me to get in touch with THP. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
