Just got an email saying my Computershare account info was changed, but it asked me to ring a certain number if that wasn’t me. It’s obviously a scam because nothing on my Computershare account has been altered.

Cheers to everyone who’s flagged this con. Just like others here, I got an email today that looked fairly genuine, supposedly from Computershare UK. It said I’d updated my payment info on my account - which I definitely hadn’t - and asked me to ring that number. The email had stuff in it that seemed like it only came from inside Computershare, so I reckon there’s been a security leak on their end. Because this seems quite serious, I’d recommend informing Computershare UK about it, perhaps through their online contact form, giving them all the scam details. They also want phishing emails forwarded to [email protected] as attachments so they can investigate properly.

Just received an email saying something like 'Thank you for updating your payment info' but I didn’t ask for any changes from Computershare even though I deal with them. How on earth do these fraudsters find out such stuff? Absolutely do NOT call that number!

Got an email saying my Computershare account payment details had been changed as I asked. It told me to call this number if I hadn’t made the request. I checked the number and it wasn’t registered to Computershare at all. I also logged into my account and couldn’t find any messages from them. Seems like a scam trying to snag my bank info. Watch out for this kind of thing!!!

Got an email with this number attached to it. Apparently, Computershare has rebranded as Equate Plus, so the message should’ve come from the new company, but it didn’t. The email claimed I’d just changed my email address, which is totally false. I’m certain this is a scam, no doubt about it. Best to avoid this number completely.

Got a call from 0330 303 5905 saying my email had been updated or something. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Got this on 24th July 2020:
They said thanks for asking to change my email address and that it’s been done, with their records all updated.
But I never asked for any email change, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. If you didn’t request it either, they say to ring +44 (0)330 303 5905.

I got a message saying my Computershare email address was changed because of a request from me, and it gave me this number (+44 (0)330 303 5905) to call if I hadn’t made the change. When I checked, I couldn’t match that number to any official Computershare contact details. So, same as others here, I’m pretty sure it’s a scam trying to get you to ring up and hand over your account info. Best just to ignore it altogether.

Feels like a scam to me... got an email that said:

Got the exact same email here. Total scam, so I just gave it a miss. What’s baffling me is how they even knew I have a Computershare account in the first place!

I received an email supposedly from Computershare, but it felt a bit dodgy to me. It said something like: "Your account has been updated. Email address change. Dear..., Thank you for asking to change your email address. We’ve made the update in our system. If you didn’t ask for this, please call us on +44 (0)330 303 5905. Best wishes, The Computershare Team.” Just thought I’d warn people to watch out for this kind of thing.

Just got an email that says it’s from ComputerShare, claiming I wanted to update the email linked to my account. Problem is, I never asked for that. They also included a phone number to ring. Seems dodgy to me, probably a scam?
