Someone said they were calling from the traffic department.

Got a call claiming to be from a British insurance group. They mentioned a recent crash date and even used my first name, which made me pause. There was a lot of noise behind the person on the line, making me suspicious. Then they said I’d been rear-ended, but I wasn’t convinced this was legit so I said I’m not interested and ended the call. Seems like they’re just cold-calling people who had accidents with very little info. I’ve blocked the number now.

Somebody rang me saying they were the insurance underwriter and told me my claim was sorted in my favour, saying the other side would cover everything including the repairs. Turns out there’s been a huge data leak from one of the insurers, and these scammers got hold of all my info by tricking me. If you get a call like that, just put the phone down straight away and don’t say a word. They’re definitely not trying to do you any good.

I suspect they were attempting to swindle me out of my banking information. They claimed to be handling insurance claims related to a car accident.

Got a call from this number saying it was about a car crash I was supposedly in. They said my insurance firm had given them my info but wouldn’t say which one. They warned me that if I didn’t share my side of the story with them, my claim would be marked as non-compliant. My insurer reckons this might be some claims management outfit working for the other driver. I’d definitely advise against sharing any info with them.

Somebody called me saying they were making sure all my accident claims were sorted, something about checking with an insurance company. But they got my car details wrong, so that didn’t really add up. Felt a bit dodgy to me, so I didn’t share any info or trust them at all.
