Today I got a call from a woman speaking English (which was a nice change!). She claimed I’d been sorting a funeral plan with someone she worked with just last week. I told her that wasn’t true, then she tried to sell me on getting a funeral plan anyway. I joked back saying why would I need one when I’m basically immortal, lol. Ended up hanging up 'cause I couldn’t stop laughing!

Received a call that flagged up as spam, claiming it was regarding life insurance. Apparently, I was meant to have reviewed something last year. I can say with certainty that’s not true, as I’ve been settled with my life insurance for five years already. When I probed for more details on their call, the person abruptly hung up on me. I've since added the number to my blocked list.

Johnny Gupta and his gang of overseas BT scammers keep ringing up, and it’s like they’re arriving both by phone and even by dinghy across the Channel. I got a call asking for Pauline, so I told them it was me, then they just ended the call. I rang them back and they claimed to be from the Housing Repair Team, saying I was on their tenant list. I explained I wasn’t a tenant, and they said sorry and that was that.

Got a call asking if I’d got some vouchers, apparently for filling out this life insurance survey. Told them I didn’t recall doing any survey like that, since I’m not interested in extra life insurance anyway. She goes on to say it was done before covid, so it’s no surprise I’d forget. I asked why I’m only hearing about the vouchers now then, and she replied it’s because they’ve only just returned to the office 🤦‍♀️😠.

I got a call saying I’d completed a life insurance survey and was eligible for some high street vouchers. They asked me to confirm my name and address only, but I didn’t share any other personal info. After that, I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.

Not sure about this one. It showed up as possibly a scam, so I just ignored it. It rang on two occasions though.

Right after I picked up, they just dropped the call on me. Then outta nowhere, they rung back in like 5 mins. This time I took it and they started asking for my bank info. I told them I was on me mum’s phone to dodge the question. Then they went on with strange questions about how old I was, where I lived, and even my gender, all while chuckling weirdly. Didn’t waste any more time, ended the call and made a police report.

I got a call from someone called 'Paul' who claimed my landlord had okayed their team to handle my repair issues - my landlord actually has their own proper repairs crew. He asked what problems I was facing, but I said I’d first speak to my landlord about it. After that, the caller didn’t bother pushing it anymore. Pretty sure it was a scam. Best not to get involved with these sorts of calls.

Today, I received a call from this number asking if there were any pending repairs needed on my house. They didn’t even say who they were or explain why they were calling. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

Really suspicious - that number seemed almost identical to one from a credit checking company I was expecting to hear from. They asked for someone called ‘Tony’ and then just cut the call. Bit of a letdown because I was ready to tell them my phone was a private government line and they were now being tracked. I reckon they’ll ring again though, so I can have a bit of a laugh with them.

Over the past few weeks, this number has called me several times. Each time I pick up, there's just silence on the other end for ages, so I end up hanging up. Sometimes they call repeatedly, then they use almost the same number but the last three digits are different. My best advice is to just block these numbers to avoid the hassle.
