Today I got a call from a woman speaking English (which was a nice change!). She claimed I’d been sorting a funeral plan with someone she worked with just last week. I told her that wasn’t true, then she tried to sell me on getting a funeral plan anyway. I joked back saying why would I need one when I’m basically immortal, lol. Ended up hanging up 'cause I couldn’t stop laughing!

Received a call that flagged up as spam, claiming it was regarding life insurance. Apparently, I was meant to have reviewed something last year. I can say with certainty that’s not true, as I’ve been settled with my life insurance for five years already. When I probed for more details on their call, the person abruptly hung up on me. I've since added the number to my blocked list.

Johnny Gupta and his gang of overseas BT scammers keep ringing up, and it’s like they’re arriving both by phone and even by dinghy across the Channel. I received a call from someone probing whether they were speaking to Pauline. When I confirmed that I was, they abruptly ended the conversation. Curiosity got the better of me, so I rang the number back only to hear from a chap claiming to be from the Housing Repair Team, saying I was listed as a tenant. I promptly clarified that I wasn’t, and they swiftly expressed their apologies. Quite the peculiar exchange!

The caller insisted that I had filled it in before the pandemic, which might explain my memory lapse. Right after I picked up, they just dropped the call on me. Then outta nowhere, they rung back in like 5 mins. This time I took it and they started asking for my bank info. I told them I was on me mum’s phone to dodge the question. Then they went on with strange questions about how old I was, where I lived, and even my gender, all while chuckling weirdly. Didn’t waste any more time, ended the call and made a police report.

I got a call from someone called 'Paul' who claimed my landlord had okayed their team to handle my repair issues - my landlord actually has their own proper repairs crew. He asked what problems I was facing, but I said I’d first speak to my landlord about it. After that, the caller didn’t bother pushing it anymore. Pretty sure it was a scam. Best not to get involved with these sorts of calls.

Quite suspicious, this one! The number resembles that of a credit reference agency I’ve been anticipating a call from. They mentioned ‘Tony’ and promptly disconnected. Such a pity, as I was all set to unleash my usual tactic, feigning that my number was a confidential government line and that their call was now under investigation. I'm certain they'll ring again, giving me the opportunity to have a bit of a laugh.
