Just like everyone else is saying, it’s a total scam. Definitely don’t answer if they ring you.

Looks like they're trying to pass it off as a one-time pad message, but really it's just a trick telling you to ring back if the call’s a surprise. Proper sneaky move!

Just got a call from 03301900118, they pretended to be HSBC but it was a clever scam. Don’t answer or talk, better to end the call right away and tell someone.

My wife and I both got the exact same text on our separate phones, saying there’s been a payment of £472.50 to Asda from HSBC. The thing is, I don’t even have an account with HSBC, so it’s clearly a scam.

Just a heads up, this sounds like the same kind of con others have mentioned. I’ve never had an HSBC account myself. Watch out - it’s definitely a scam!

Got a message that looked like it was from Argos with a code, but I never asked for it. It said if it wasn’t me I should ring this fraud number. Definitely don’t call them!

On 4th Sept 2021 I got a text from hsbukpascd saying "your OTP is 107005 for a transaction of $572.50 to louis vuitton." If I didn’t ask for this, I was told to call fraud dept on 0330190011. Bit worrying!

I got a call from 03301900118 claiming to be HSBC about some fraud alert. They said there was a direct debit for £372.50 that I needed to check. They gave me a reference number too. sounded a bit fishy tbh.

Got a text claiming there’s a fraud alert from HSBC about a direct debit of £372.50 on 2nd Sept, asking me to ring 03301900118. It says reference: fip791 and gives their hours - 8am to 8pm weekdays, 8am to 6pm weekends. Thing is, I don’t even have an HSBC account, so I’m pretty sure it’s just a scam.

Got a text claiming to be from HSBC about some fraud with a direct debit for £372.50 dated 02/09. It told me to ring 03301900118 to sort it out, with their hours listed as 8am to 8pm weekdays and 8am to Gpm on weekends (not sure what that meant). Problem is, I don’t even hold an HSBC account, so I’m pretty sure this is just a scam trying to catch people out.

This number messaged me too, saying something about Deliveroo. I’ve never used their service and definitely don’t have an HSBC bank account. It’s gotta be a scam, don’t bother replying!

Got a text from hsbcukpascd saying there was a payment of £272.50 to Louis Vuitton with a one-time code 509679. It told me to call 03301900118 and gave a ref ctp73tf if I didn’t approve it. Felt fishy since I don’t even bank with HSBC. I reckon it’s a scam, so I’ve blocked the number just to be safe.
