They rang me claiming to be from O2 but didnt have the right info. I kept them on the line till they got annoyed. Then they phoned my brother’s number right after, and I did the same, kept them waiting till they got frustrated again. Next, they tried my dad’s phone (all numbers one after the other) and I called them out on it. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

Blocking these scam callers is pretty pointless. They just ring back from endless fake and untraceable numbers they have. But there is actually a way to fight back. Someone shared a post here with steps you can take to try and reduce these dodgy calls. The tech to block them properly exists, it’s just that politicians won’t make it happen. If enough of us ask our MPs proper questions about it, they have to respond. We might actually see some change then.

Got a dodgy call from someone saying I could get 40% off my 02 bill. It was an Asian woman, but I couldn’t catch much of what she was saying, so she passed me onto another woman who spoke a bit clearer. Total scam and so frustrating - they rang me up twice even after I told them no the first time. They pretended to be from my network and said they could save me some cash. They rang me several times, so I assumed it was something urgent. I couldn’t make out what the person was saying at all. Sounds like they were calling from overseas. The person claimed to be from my network provider. When I asked which provider, they didn’t give a proper answer, just kept saying ‘from your network provider’. After pressing for more info, they said O2. I’m not with O2. Then they tried to pitch me switching and their offers. I shut down the call quick! Total SCAMMERS! Avoid them and don’t pick up.
