I wasn't able to answer the phone when it rang, but honestly, I receive about 15 unsolicited calls nearly every single day. They often show their location as part of the number (I've noticed quite a few from Edinburgh lately), which is a bit reassuring. I'm not particularly fussed about those, as I can’t think of anyone I’d want to speak to on the mainland. However, it’s the non-geographic numbers that make me uneasy, as they might be genuine calls, like from a doctor's surgery, a hospital, or even energy providers, since sometimes those important institutions use numbers that don't conform to the standard Northern Ireland codes, and I wouldn’t want to miss something crucial.

Ever since I turned 50, I've been inundated with calls from these folks. I keep insisting that I’m not at all worried about funeral expenses, seeing as I'll be pushing up daisies! So, honestly, it’s not my worry, even if they want to hurl me off a cliff! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Most times, I’ve noticed that if I bluntly declare I'm "perpetually jobless", it tends to send them packing in double-quick time!

Missed a call with no info on where they were ringing from, so I looked up the number. I get pestered by cold callers from first thing most days. Normally they show a location - Edinburgh’s been quite common lately. I’ve tried loads of ways to stop them but no luck. Lately, especially with early calls, I answer and then just leave the phone down without saying a word, letting them hang about saying "Hello? Hello?!" (thinking it might drain their credit but probably doesn’t at all). Really grateful for this site!
