Today, I received a proper call from this number. After seeing some silent calls linked to it before, I thought it was just another annoying scam and let it go to voicemail. But the caller left a message saying they were welcoming me as a new member of Avon Wildlife Trust, which I've recently signed up for. When I mentioned that this site lists the number as 'harassing', he told me it's actually a shared number charities use to make calls at a lower cost. So, while some calls from this number can be a pain, others are perfectly legit.

This was a REAL call from a charity trying to raise awareness about liver tests to help save lives. I just got a call and had it marked as a HMRC tax scam on my phone, but it was nothing like that. The guy was really nice and asked if I wanted to get more involved in the campaign since I’d signed a petition (which I actually did).

Received a call on Sunday at 16:20 from someone claiming to be about the marriage allowance tax I asked about online. I found it quite odd that an HMRC representative would ring on a Sunday, so I decided to end the call. Additionally, I had a previous call from this same number not long ago, threatening that I owed money and that a warrant for my arrest was imminent if I didn’t settle up. I've now blocked the number!

Anyone who phones out of the blue asking for bank info should be very careful. Besides leaving comments here, maybe people should also leave a review on Trustpilot.

A woman called saying she was from Sue Ryder and wanted to chat about supporting their charity. I said it wasn't a good time and asked her to call later. But after I hung up and checked, the number showed up as Possible Fraud!! Watch out, everyone!
