If you want to prevent any more money being taken from your debit card, ring up your bank and ask for a new one. They’ll cancel the old card so no more withdrawals can happen. Best to do it straight away once you spot what these scoundrels are doing.

For the past three months, my phone bills have gone up with extra charges for data usage, and I’m really baffled about why. Since this Coronavirus lockdown began, it seems hard to reach anyone at o2 - maybe because they're short-staffed - so I can’t figure out what’s causing it. I’ve blocked all those annoying texts and even sent 'stop' to 85222, but it doesn’t help. I'm 72 years old and I’m sure I haven’t signed up for any of these services. Can someone please assist me? Today’s date: Monday 4th May 2020.

Just woke up and saw a message saying I'm part of some deal alerts thing? No clue who they are or how I got on their list. They want me to pay £4.50 every week unless I text stop to 85222. Tried looking for help but the number 033013 40183 costs money, whether I call or text. Proper rubbish service!

My phone’s gone dead coz I can’t even make calls now thanks to them, and I’ve tried looking for a way to complain but can’t dig up any email or contact info. I absolutely won’t pay for stuff I never asked for. This is so frustrating!

I got ripped off £59 myself, tried texting STOP but it didn’t go through. Virgin Mobile have blocked all premium numbers for me now (fingers crossed it sticks). No clue how I got caught up in this scam, I can’t remember ever signing up for anything that chargers £4.50 a week. The scam was called DEAL ALERTS but I never saw any deals whatsoever. Honestly, would be good to know how I got signed up and what I was even meant to be paying for.

Since August 2016, they've been charging me £15 every month without my permission. I've called loads of times, but all I get is some recorded message.

I got ripped off by this firm too. Apparently, I put in a PIN to join some competition, and that allowed them to drain money from my O2 account. This has been happening since last September. I called them up, but they just told me to send an email with an itemised bill if I wanted to sort it out. I haven’t received any messages from them since January 2017, and like someone else said, I deleted the ones before then. The phone companies should really be held responsible for letting these scammers slip through. They must have some kind of duty to protect customers, knowing these dodgy companies are out there. Honestly, I’m livid, and even more annoyed that it’s taken me this long to notice what was going on.

I've fallen victim to a scam as well, and it's so frustrating that nothing seems to be done to prevent it! I'm thinking of switching my phone number to try and put an end to it. Honestly, it's just shocking how often this happens!

I've been dealing with the same problem and still haven't managed to fix it. I've even had to go back to using my old mobile just to make calls and send texts. Like you, nothing from previous complaints seems to have helped at all. It's baffling that this issue keeps happening. I'm just an elderly pensioner and honestly don't want this hassle in my life. Would really appreciate it if someone could finally get this sorted.

For the past few months, I've noticed that £4.50 keeps disappearing from my mobile credit. Every time I top up, the exact amount vanishes straight away, which means I can't really use my phone properly. I've tried calling the contact numbers they provided, but they don't seem to exist or work at all. Even the local mobile shop couldn’t sort it out for me. The text number they gave is useless too - it just says it's not recognised. Honestly, I'm getting really frustrated with this and don't know what to do next.

Money has been deducted from my phone bill by services I never signed up for. This is clearly a scam and I blame Three.co.uk for not protecting their customers from this. I'm planning to take them to small claims court to get my cash back and push for a legal order preventing Three from charging customers for these dodgy services. If anyone else wants to help stop this, get in touch with me at [email protected].

I’ve also been tricked into this, never signed up for anything and they’ve already withdrawn over £400 from my bank. Now they're after another £95! I’m 77 years old, why would I pay £4.50 per text, it makes no sense to me. I’m really struggling to get my money back and it’s so stressful. Three.co.uk should surely take responsibility here since they’re aware of what’s happening? I had to cancel my phone contract because I couldn’t afford it anymore, but not a single word about reporting it to the police. This is a scam for sure, and I just want my cash back.

I was checking my mobile bill online and noticed this firm has been charging me £121.75 since April 2016! I’m absolutely fuming because I never signed up for anything called 'prize hook'. Whenever I got texts from them, I just deleted them, never realising they were quietly taking money from my account. My phone company told me the charges were from a company called SP Two Ltd. I’m definitely calling them first thing tomorrow to demand my money back.

So I got charged £70.19 somehow, called the number my phone company gave me by mistake, but all they did was just say they’d open a case to give me a refund. Then this month, another £55.08 disappeared from my account, so they obviously never stopped the payments even tho I never agreed to it in the first place! Proper scam if you ask me!

I don’t understand how these numbers end up with companies that use them for scams. Someone ought to be accountable for this mess. Also, they really need to give back the £4.50 they charged me when I never even signed up for any contract!

This was a premium number that wouldn’t let me send a STOP message. I tried texting STOP to 61455 but who knows if it’ll actually work. Honestly, they should be taken to court for fraud or something, it’s just not right. Hope it finally stops now.

Found over £48 charged to my phone without my consent. I got in touch with the regulator who told me to email the company, which I did. They quickly responded, listing the dates and times I supposedly signed up for their competition. I completely deny their claim and plan to take legal action against these fraudsters. Using the Freedom of Information Act, I've requested their records of all complaints from the past 6 and 12 months. I’m not backing down on this - I’m determined to see it through.

I've had loads of £3.75 charges on my bill from texts sent by 61455 via O2, they're clearly scam messages linked to that number. I'm going to put in a formal complaint with O2 and demand they block it, this has to be some kind of fraud.

Can someone tell me who these people are and what they're after? I’m on a pay as you go plan and don’t want any more calls from them. Who do I get in touch with to stop this?

This was on my boy's phone, he probably thought he was signing up for some contest or something. We got billed £15 each month for like two months before we spotted it?? Tried ringing 03301340183 but the line was all static, took ages to connect. Gave them his mobile, fingers crossed they stop charging us?? The worst part? The phone went missing a couple months ago, so we’re paying for stuff on a phone we don’t even have?? What a pain!

If you want to stop getting texts from 61455, just text STOP in all caps.
I got a call from 03301340183, it was some automated thing, so I followed the instructions telling it to stop messaging me.
Loads of these scams are from ads on websites, and sometimes just scrolling or clicking near them can set them off without you realising.

61455 took £22.50 off me on my last bill. I’ve texted them STOP to try and halt it. If enough of us report them to Ofcom, maybe they’ll actually do something about it. I honestly don’t get how this is allowed, feels like it has to be illegal.

Totally annoyed, just like me, got charged £4.50. I texted stop and fingers crossed, that’ll do the trick. Can’t get a refund since they charge you each time you call the number.

I didn’t realise it was a total rip-off until a mate mentioned they got an M&S voucher but then got hit with a £4.50 charge, so I’ve told them to stop. I’m ringing my phone provider now just to double-check no more sneaky charges will pop up without me knowing. What a joke!

I got caught out by this lot... after joining a prize competition for a Tesco voucher, they ended up taking money from my phone. I sent a 'stop' message to their texts and got a reply saying it's cancelled now - fingers crossed that’s true! Asked them for a refund but, surprise surprise, I haven’t seen any money back. Been a bit wary about calling the number they gave, worried it might be another dodgy scam!

I only figured out it was a scam when they said it would charge me £4.50 every week. I don't want to be paying that and there's no option to send a stop text. Anyone knows what I should do? I’m really worried now. It was supposed to be a Sainsbury's online survey.

Beware of a scam linked to the Asda site. They send a survey promising vouchers, but afterwards, you get a text saying you’ve been signed up for a subscription. It tells you to reply 'stop' to cancel, but it ends up charging you £4.50. Tried reaching out to the firm but haven’t had any reply at all.

I took part in a giveaway for a Tesco Gift Card and suddenly got a message telling me I’d signed up to Prize.hook.com, which costs £4.50 a week! Luckily, my network blocked any charges from going through. I rang the 0330 number but it was an automated line that asked me to punch in my mobile number to unsubscribe. I did that, and later got a text confirming that all my competition entries were cancelled and I wouldn’t get any more texts.
