They said they’d ring me back and wanted me to give a 6 digit code. I answered NO. Later, I got a phone call from 0330 133 1973. The bloke on the phone had a Welsh accent and said he was from Nationwide fraud. He asked me to confirm the cardholder’s name. Oddly, he only said the shortened version of my first name, not the full name on the card. I asked him to repeat the name, and right after that, he just hung up. I’m in Greater Manchester, so that threw me off. They tried to rope me into talking about my eBay purchases and asked how many credit cards I had and what balance was left on them. It sounded fishy, so I rang my bank straight away and they confirmed nothing was wrong and that they hadn’t called me.
