Somebody came up to me in the street saying they worked for Scottish Power and had special discount deals you couldn’t get on their website, only by calling their call centre direct. They then called a Glasgow number from my phone to 'connect me' but I told them I was tied up right then. When I looked up the number afterwards, it wasn’t actually Scottish Power’s. Afterwards, they phoned me back from an 0330 number, but I told them I wasn’t interested anymore.

Then they phoned me back from an 0330 number, but I told them I wasn't interested anymore.

Got another random call outta nowhere. This time some woman with an accent not from the UK kept trying to make me talk but I just stayed quiet. Got another random call from this number today. I picked up but stayed silent. A bloke with a Southern UK accent kept saying "hello?" over and over for about 15 seconds then just ended the call. Took him long enough to realise I wasn't falling for whatever scam he was trying.

This number keeps calling my phone every day for a few weeks now and I just ignore it. A few years back, around 3, I got caught out by a scam on my laptop and I’m not risking it again. It was such a bad time. Luckily, no cash was lost because my daughter stepped in and told me to report it to my bank's fraud team and cancel my cards straight away. Honestly, please, don’t pick up if you don’t know the caller. It’s just not worth the hassle!!!

Had the same experience, someone claiming to be from SCOTTISH POWER rang me up saying they’re checking all electric and gas providers, claiming SCOTTISH POWER is the cheapest. They said they’d ring me back tonight. Wasn’t in when they phoned. I mentioned Martin Lewis says you can get 25% off with your current supplier, but they acted like they’d never heard of it. Guess salespeople don’t pass that info on to the callers.
