Luckily I didn’t pick up when the phone rang. I checked the number afterwards and saw loads of bad reviews. Google even flagged it as spam.

This scam seems quite risky. I’d say avoid picking up if this number rings you and never ever ring it back either. It’s baffling why the police or any official body don’t just shut these fraudsters down or at least stop them from working here in the UK. It’s really sad, especially for those who are easily tricked, and all the officials do is give out warnings like it’s no big deal.

Got a call from some bloke trying to peddle housing association insurance. I asked a few simple questions about it, but they clearly didn’t have a clue about how housing associations actually work. After that, they got pretty rude and just hung up on me. The number was coming from an Indian call centre, ####.

Someone rang me up about issues with my home, but I’m not sure what it was about.

Somehow these people got hold of my mobile, even though I never share it. I’ve blocked the number now. They rang me yesterday morning at about 8.30, claiming they knew I was having issues with my home. I told them no and just hung up. They’ve called before, and usually I just let it ring when I see the number, but not this time. Honestly, I don’t understand why it takes so many complaints before anyone does something about this.

After a bit, an AI bot kicked in and called me Sarah, but the company name it said was really hard to make out. I stayed quiet, and it asked if I was still there. Then it just dropped the call on its own. Definitely some scam using an AI to screen calls.

Somebody called claiming to be from the housing department about issues with my property. When I asked them to clarify which house they meant, the line got cut off straight away.

They said they were from the council about a housing issue, but it was definitely a scam. Trying to trick people about council properties. Not falling for it!

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. I picked up the phone and there was a pause before anyone spoke. Then a woman called Sarah came on and asked if I'd got any problems with damp or damage in my home. I wanted to know which company she was with, and she said something about Housing Disrepair and said they’re contacting tenants in social housing. When I told her I wasn’t a social housing tenant, the call just ended. Feels like they’re exploiting the new rules about social housing landlords or something...

I asked Sarah if she was real, and after a bit of silence, she answered "yes." It definitely felt off because that's not how a genuine person would reply to that kind of question. Seems pretty clear to me that Sarah's just a robot.
