7 yearsSounds like a total HMRE rip-off to me.10 yearsJust got a call from 03300889601, no idea who they are? Anyone knows?10 yearsGot a call from some company I’ve never heard of, all about getting business rates back - they were really forceful about it!11 yearsI recently encountered a rather pushy cold-calling outfit by the name of Bannister-Preston, claiming to assist in obtaining Council relief payments for a fee. Their name is quite reminiscent of a well-respected law firm in Manchester, which struck me as rather suspect. They sent a representative to our workplace, but despite my boss clearly stating we weren’t interested, they persisted relentlessly. Their deal involved taking a hefty 35% cut of a possible refund of £2500, asserting that securing this refund was overly complicated without their expertise. Quite frankly, this is nonsense! Once we pried the name of the relief from their reluctant rep, we did a quick search online and discovered there's something called Retail Relief. A simple call to the council, lasting no more than five minutes, secured us the refund we were entitled to. No forms, no fuss, and best of all, no payment of £875 to Bannister-Preston. A definite win!BannisterPrestonCouncilManchesterRetail Relief11 yearsAbsolutely. The fee for a single form was outrageous, and it's baffling that these individuals share the exact same name. Was that a deliberate decision on their part?11 yearsIt appears that these individuals are starting to acknowledge the situation now.11 yearsAh, what a cheeky little ruse, wouldn't you say? A dodgy operation masquerading as a legitimate company, quite bold! I do wonder who fell for that one.11 yearsSo, was this the real deal or just a bit of a scam, then?Submit Your Own Report (0330 088 9601)
