I got a call from this number, turns out it's Green Gnomes, a Retrofit Consultancy. They mainly help out Housing Associations and Local Councils by arranging energy efficiency surveys. If you want to double-check, just ring up your local council’s Housing Officer or the Resident Liaison Officer at your housing association. Their site is www.greengnomes.co.uk if you fancy a look.

Let it buzz a bit, then I looked up the number and, lo and behold, found loads of folks saying it's a scam. Big thanks to everyone for posting about these shady calls!

They mentioned I had an appointment set for the 14th, but the connection was really poor, making it tough to understand.

Received a call earlier today, they already knew my first name and claimed to be from my bank, saying there was a suspicious transaction linked to Argos. The moment I said I'd ring them back, they just ended the call. Rang my bank afterwards and they said they hadn’t attempted to get in touch. Total scam.

I picked up and they hung up straight away but you could hear a lot of noise like a busy office messing about before the call cut out.

Got a call from someone called Molly from Premier Phones or sumthin. Didn’t bother checking who I was, just launched into some spiel about Openreach getting privatised and rental costs being cut in half. Asked if I had broadband, I said yes. She goes, “You’ll just notice a different name on your bill. You're paying BT about £40-50 a month.” (No we’re not). I told her, “That’s utter rubbish. Goodbye,” and hung up. Pretty clear it’s some kinda scam.

Someone rang me saying they were from Premier Telecom and said they'd teamed up with BT since BT and Openreach parted ways. They told me they could sort landline and broadband for way less, even though I’m still tied into a BT contract.

Got a call from this number earlier today - a bloke claiming to be from a premium phone line service, mentioned BT and even knew my name. The guy spoke really politely in English. I told him I wasn't interested and he just hung up straight away. If they ring back, I’ll be blocking the number since I’ve got it now.

The caller actually knew my name and claimed it was about my BT line. I told him I don't have a BT line, and he was really apologetic, said he'd remove my details from their list. Sounds like some kind of scam, so I’ve just gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Woman from some "call centre" said she could cut our BT bill. We get loads of scam calls about BT. She was pretty forceful.

A confident woman who said her name was Jasmine rang me and said we'd chatted before that day, which we definitely hadn't. She kept going on about some "ongoing" cover for my TV, though I've never had anything like that. Felt like she was hoping I'd get mixed up and fall for some sort of scam.

Keeps ringing me up a couple of times daily! Wouldn't tell me who they were unless I gave them my info, which I wasn't willing to do.

I guess they call just to see if someones picks up, then they go ahead and flood your number or sell it as an active one to other junk callers.

Got a call from a woman with a sharp tone. She claimed my mate picked up the phone on Monday and told her I was tied up, asking her to call again. She sounded really sure about what she was saying. Made it seem like she thought I’d gone a bit daft. Reckon she was banking on me being some forgetful old person.

I had a call from a woman with a rather clever-sounding voice. Apparently, my mate picked up on Monday and told her I was tied up, suggesting she give me a bell later. She certainly came across as quite self-assured in her statements. It felt as though she was implying that I was somewhat forgetful or all over the place. Almost as if she was expecting me to be a befuddled elderly person!

I’ve been ignoring this number cause I’ve got no clue who it might be, likely another telemarketer. These sorts are such a nuisance!

He spoke in a rather posh, polite tone, saying, "Hello... this is Sebastian," then started asking about my TV. I’m guessing he was trying to pitch some kind of warranty plan. Honestly, what’s the world coming to?
