Watch out, this is a total rip-off. My disabled sister got charged £149 without meaning to, and the bloke on the phone was super pushy with her. Just wanna warn everyone to be careful with calls like this.

You should definitely get in touch with your bank, and don’t forget to notify trading standards as well as action fraud. I’d suggest looking up the names Luke Ashbee and Lloyd Smith on Google too.

My elderly dad got done the exact same way just this week. They took out £159.99 without permission. I’ve spoken to the bank, and also reported it to the Office of Fair Trading and BBC Watchdog. We’ve got to put a stop to these awful scammers preying on our most vulnerable folks.

My 89 year old mother in law has been getting charged more and more by PYD JH Protection SA (Homeservsolutions), starting at £149 and now it's £169. She's pretty much deaf, so I have no idea what she's actually agreeing to with them. We're looking into it, but it's crazy how companies like this manage to do stuff like this. If you want, have a look at the [#]homeservsolutions[###] website. I tried but my internet security blocked it.

My 80 year old aunt got tricked by this Privacy Protect UK lot, losing quite a few payments of £149.99 each. I only found out recently, but luckily I’ve got the bank to block any more charges and they’ve now got their fraud team looking into it. Honestly, it’s heartbreaking that people prey on older folks like that and feel it’s perfectly fine to do so.

My elderly relative, who is 88, got caught up in the same scam similar to call control just a few days back. Now she’s on some kind of "sucker’s list", and this new outfit called her from 03300425346 saying they were Privacy Protect and that she supposedly owed them £149. Thankfully, she stood her ground and phoned me immediately like she was told. I did a quick check on the number and, not surprisingly, it’s linked to a major scam aimed at vulnerable elderly folks. How do these people even sleep, making this their daily grind?

I've been attempting to report calls from this number, but it's been quite a challenge. Either no one picks up the phone, or I get some voice saying the line is busy. I'll have to give it another shot later.

My mum just got a letter from this company saying they’re going to take money from her bank account. She’s about to call the bank to check no withdrawals have been made. She’s sure she never shared her bank info, so I’m thinking this might be the beginning of some dodgy business!

My mum, who’s 84, just got scammed out of £149.99. Turns out the company isn’t even legit - Companies House show it’s been closed since February 2018, yet they’re still taking money! How on earth are Visa and Mastercard letting this happen? It’s crazy.

For the past few years, I've been getting constant calls and letters meant for my mum, who sadly died about six years ago. I've already informed the Police Action Fraud Centre about it. Fingers crossed they manage to shut this scam down soon, it's really annoying.

This company keeps trying to fraud my elderly mother in law out of her money over and over. Every time, I've had to call the bank myself to get her cash back. You can't get hold of these people by phone or email at all - total scam. Definitely avoid them.

I've called these people a few times but nobody ever picks up. They've taken money out of my bank account without asking me. I've already reported it to the police.

My elderly mum and dad got calls and ended up being charged £149.99 several times. There’s these companies with similar names like PrivacyprotectUK, DonotcallUK, and CallprotectUK - looks like they’re all run by a bloke named Lloyd Smith. They’re all from the same address: 3a Lansdown Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH1 1RX. I’ve already reported them to the police for what they’ve done.

A 93 year old pensioner in the UK has been scammed out of £149.99 by a company called Privacy Protect. It’s awful, she’s been caught a few times by different names but it’s all the same trick. I’ve had to step in and take her bank card off her now to stop it happening again. Very sad.

I tried calling yesterday and had to wait about 25 minutes trying to reach customer services, then another 20 minutes when I got through to accounts. Today, I called again at 9.02am and spent 20 minutes waiting on hold just to get to customer services. My mum’s 88 and really shouldn’t be put through all this hassle. It’s proper frustrating.

Total rip-off. They try to get bank info off elderly folks to swipe cash for supposed services. When you ask for their details, they just chuck out fake numbers and nonsense. Avoid at all costs.

They scam elderly folks claiming their phone needs some sort of filter protection.

They pressured my old grandma into handing over £149.99 to supposedly stop these annoying calls, but then they went off and sold her debit card info to some other con artist who immediately tried to nick the same amount again. It’s mad how they say they're on the ICO register, yet still ring her out of the blue and try to scare her like that.

I got a call earlier claiming I owe £149 for a service I've not even touched for about 2 years since it was rubbish. I actually cancelled it ages ago, but this bloke insisted I still owed for three years, £149 each, though he said he might cut the last two years if I pay this one. Said it was too late to cancel the current year though. I lost it, contacted my bank’s security team, and stopped any payments from going through. Feels like a total rip-off, like they count on people just paying the first bill and giving up on the rest. Proper nasty lot.

Got a call claiming my elderly mate had signed up for their service, which was news to us. He kept getting random sales pitches and swore he never agreed to anything. When I asked to cancel, they insisted they needed his card details first. I pressed the caller for his name, and after some hesitation, he blurted out ‘Tom Jones’. I then asked to speak to his supervisor, ‘Emily’, but was told she wasn’t available and no one higher up could help. I said I’d wait for her but then ‘Tom’ just dropped the call. Definitely felt like a scam aimed at someone vulnerable.

My mate just got a call from someone saying he owes £149.99 from privacy protect uk, but he never signed up for anything with them. Sounded like a total scam to me and they really ought to be shut down.

They keep sending me letters saying I’m signed up with them and want me to pay £149.99 straight from my debit card by default. Really annoying!
