Got a call from a woman named Kim claiming to be from Shell, my energy company. She actually dropped a voicemail this time with a number to ring about setting up a smart meter. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve told them I’m not interested. Clearly, they’re not paying attention, and judging by what others have said, they might not even be legit Shell energy reps! I’ve blocked the number and wiped the message now.

I’ve had quite enough of these phone calls! I expressly stated on three separate occasions during different conversations that I'm not interested at all, but they became downright rude and overly persistent. Now, they're ringing me multiple times a day - we're talking two to three calls every day! I’ve gone and blocked their number, but it hasn’t stopped them; they still manage to call, leaving me an alarming number of voicemails, sometimes up to five a day, filled with nothing but heavy breathing. It’s all rather unsettling, to say the least!

Problem is, Bristol Energy still hasn’t updated their system and they show us as having the old meters. This has been dragging on for over 9 months now. We complained to the Ombudsman who told them to fix it, but they still haven’t sorted it. Their customer service is rubbish, so clueless. Would seriously recommend steering well clear of them!

i reckon this is from bristol energy or maybe a firm they've hired to get in touch with customers. the government in the UK said all energy suppliers have to offer smart meters to their clients before the end of 2020. it's fine to pick up the call, it ain't really spam. you're under no obligation to accept a smart meter, but if you don’t have one yet, there’s no harm in getting it done. if your home is hooked up to the electricity network and you haven't got a smart meter already, expect to get contacted, no matter who provides your electricity.
