I received a rather peculiar call from this chap who inquired about when my most recent accident had occurred. Naturally, I was curious as to why he wanted to know, so I asked him. He rambled on for a bit, and once he wrapped up his little monologue, I had to inform him that I've never owned a vehicle nor do I possess a driving licence. Quite unexpectedly, he flew into a rage, calling me a "bloody idiot" for wasting his time before abruptly ending the call. What a kerfuffle! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve heard that guy calling himself John before, seems like he’s part of one of those scam groups. They tend to use a bunch of similar numbers for calls, so when this one gets blocked, he’ll probably switch to another one in the same range.

I've seen this number pop up linked to scams in the past. It's a shame, but there are always people who end up getting tricked by these sorts of things.

A bloke called John claiming to be from some medic alert group rang me up then said I qualified for a free alert with no charges or anything. He wanted to ask a few questions like if I was above 50 years old. I just ended the call straight away because if age mattered they'd probably have that info already, right? Felt a bit dodgy to me.

I wonder if John’s aware that he might be heading towards a stint behind bars? Seems like a pretty grim future for him.

Some bloke called me saying he was from Medic Alert and that I could qualify for a free medical alert pendant. When I asked where he got my number from, he just said his manager handed out a list of people to ring. He claimed they operated out of Dorset. Whenever I tried to ask more questions, he just dodged them and then ended the call abruptly. He spoke really quickly and I reckon he could easily trick someone into thinking they were entitled to a helpful item. I’d say it felt a bit like harassment and quite dodgy.

Got a call from someone asking all sorts of questions about disabilities in people over 50. Not really sure why they wanted that info.

Some guy called me, wanting to know if I was over 50 and telling me I might qualify for a free medical alert pendant. When I asked how he got my number, he said his company received a spreadsheet with people who had my medical issues. I told him lots of people live at my address and asked who exactly he wanted to talk to, hoping to connect him to the right person. That’s when I started suspecting it was one of those dodgy calls. He just said “no problem” and then ended the call. Pretty sure he was trying to reach my mum - not happening!

Received a call from someone saying they were with a medical alert service about alert pendants, and they started asking for personal info. The bloke said he’d got my number from the local NHS, which sounds fishy since he didn't even know my name. When I fired back a few questions, he couldn't answer a single one and said he was new to the job. Normally I don’t get many scam calls on my landline, but lately I’m getting loads from different travel insurance firms mentioning medical conditions - could be related or maybe not. Definitely feels like a dodgy call.

"Beware of con artists posing as 'Medical Alert' services targeting individuals over 50!"

Got a call from these medical alert people. Apparently since I’m past 50, I qualify for one of their pendants - they reckon they get this info from nearby medical firms or something. When I asked if they actually knew who I was from that data, they admitted they didn’t. I found it quite offensive that they assumed I was in that category needing their help, so I just told them off and ended the call!

Got a call asking if I was over 50 and qualified for some free medical thing. I asked them who they were and what it was about, then they just hung up. Seems like they were probably trying to gather info for some scam later on, so I'd say it's pretty dodgy. Rated this one DANGEROUS.

Targeting the older generation with those medical alert necklaces, are they? I got cut off in no time after firing off a few queries! Quite the dodgy tactics, if you ask me! 😄

got a call from some bloke with an english accent trying to push fake medical alert pendants on me. told him to piss off straight away. the worrying thing is, older folks might actually believe this tosh, so its really important to tell any vulnerable family, mates or neighbours not to answer or trust any cold calls.

I got a call from a bloke named John who claimed he was ringing on behalf of Medic Alert. He told me I supposedly qualified for a free medic alert device based on some list he had. Then he asked if I was over 50. I just told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Seems dodgy to me - don’t reckon a legit Medic Alert group would cold call like that. Plus, the silence at the start of the call made it clear they were probably trying loads of numbers.

Hi there, I noticed I had a missed call, but oddly enough, no voicemail was left. When I checked, the number displayed wasn’t private. I’ve been looking into various suppliers lately, and I seem to recall the name Fantastica Marketing cropping up. In any case, I hung up without engaging further. How on earth did they manage to get hold of my number?

Got a call from someone saying he was from a medical alert centre in Dorset. The bloke had an English accent and said his name was John. He asked if I was over 50, which made me think he clearly didn’t know who he was ringing. When I said I had no clue what he was on about, he just nicely ended the call. Quite polite for a random cold call, really.

Got a call from a number claiming to be some medical alert service, but the person never said who they were or why they were ringing. They just went quiet and ended the call right away. Bit strange honestly.

Utterly fraudulent. Attempting to peddle counterfeit medical alert devices. Spoke in a polished manner, but I soon told him to clear off. A glance at other similar websites confirms that this number has been linked to multiple scams. This particular con seems to target the most vulnerable among us, especially the elderly. It's crucial to ensure that all at-risk family members, friends, and neighbours are aware never to engage with unsolicited callers. Scammers acquire our names, phone numbers, and other personal information from various channels, which can be bought quite cheaply on the dark web. Exercise extreme caution regarding what details you share about yourself online. You might be astonished at what some people inadvertently reveal. That’s precisely why I left Facebook after just a couple of days; other platforms aren't much better, to be honest.

I received a call from what sounded like the Medical Alert Centre. The voice was quite amiable, yet it had that slightly stilted, pre-recorded feel about it, with noticeable pauses in between. They mentioned something about a complimentary medical alert pendant but then wanted to confirm that I’m over the age of 50 before launching into what I can only assume would be a barrage of personal information requests. Honestly, it felt a bit dodgy to me!

Some bloke named Alex, sounded Asian, kept ringing me about an accident claim. I reckon it’s a scam, so I just ended the call and blocked the number. They’re trying to get you to agree to a car hire contract and fix your car through them, then they talk about paying you loads in compensation. Proper dodgy scammers, honestly.

I keep getting voicemails from someone saying they’re from Credit Advantage. Don’t really know if it's a proper company or just some scam. We never gave them permission to ring us, but they keep leaving messages nearly every day. It's getting a bit annoying now.

I had a call from this number, 0330 027 1412, the other day. When I picked up, the bloke on the other end straightaway demanded my name. I replied by telling him that he ought to introduce himself first. Can you believe it? He responded with a rude obscenity and then just hung up! Clearly, just another dodgy scammer fishing for personal details. Honestly, it's quite amusing how low these people will stoop.

Got a call from someone claiming they wanted to talk about a payout for a car crash I was supposedly in last year. Thing is, I never had any accident. I decided to humour them and joked that the granny probably deserved it for taking ages to get across the street. They ended up just hanging up on me.

I recently received a phone call from this number, and it was the same old story. The caller claimed I had been involved in a non-fault accident over the past couple of years and inquired if I had received the necessary paperwork for claiming compensation. They were rather dodgy when it came to disclosing the name of their company; initially, they mentioned the other party's insurance, but when I pressed for the actual company name, they finally said they were from Road to Recovery. Even more suspiciously, they wouldn't confirm any specifics, like when this so-called accident allegedly happened. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

I received a call from them claiming I was involved in an accident and inquired if I’d received my insurance payout. The truth is, I haven’t been in any kind of accident at all. Cheers for the concern, but no need to follow up!
