Got a woman from Africa on the line who just keeps going and talking in her own language, couldn’t understand a word.

Got a call from someone pushing budget broadband for businesses. They spoke really fast, and I could barely understand because of the accent. As soon as I mentioned I’m on the TPS list, they just hung up quick. Proper pushy sales tactic.

Some bloke with an Indian accent rang me offering some cheap phone and broadband deal. Got caught out by a similar scam years back - the firm was based in Pakistan but had some dodgy office in London as a front. Thankfully, I managed to get away from them after about three months. I wish I could block this number straight away. Unfortunately, today the phone was in my pocket and I ended up calling them by mistake since they were the last number I’d received a call from. I didn’t notice until later that the call had gone on for 41 minutes! Normally, a proper business or person would just hang up, but it sounds like my call kept going. They rang me yesterday asking if they could talk to the owner of my business, which is actually me. They were trying to sell some deal about lowering my phone and internet bills. I told the guy (he sounded Indian) to send me something in writing first. He asked for my email, and I said, "Mike, dot [email protected][###]". Earlier this afternoon, precisely at 2:27pm, our phone rang with a call from a company identifying themselves as Unicom, which they claimed to be a division of BT. I firmly told them to leave us alone as I recognise this is nothing but a SCAM. The gentleman on the line, who had an Indian accent, persisted and promised he could help lower our phone bills. I responded with a resounding NO, insisting they remove our number from their list. After my decisive rejection, he abruptly hung up. We definitely don’t want any further contact!

Just had another call from this number, a bloke called Salim who said he was from Uniplus linked to BT. After I hung up the first time, he called back! I stayed polite and didn’t raise my voice. He tried to explain some offer, but I told him I was fine with my current setup and didn’t want any changes. Then he kept saying I’d have 14 days to reconsider before any switch happened. I cut him off and told him I wasn’t authorising anything and ended the call. He just said “oh” and hung up. Proper waste of time, especially after a long day working hard.

This number rang me up saying it was Uniplus and they had broadband deals. They said they knew I was with BT and that my bill wouldn’t go up. I kept saying no, I’m happy with BT, but he wouldn’t listen. He said his name was Salim and that he represented BT services. At first, he spoke to my wife like he already had our info, but later he asked for our details. It felt really fishy - kept pushing a service I never wanted, and when I finally said goodbye, he just hung up. Then he called back again! Definitely blocking this one.

A bloke with a weird accent was mumbling something, and there was all this noisy background like some chaotic call centre nightmare. I asked him to say that again. He just went, "Can I talk to the business owner?" I was confused and said, "Business?" Then, out of nowhere, he hung up on me.
