I've received two calls from this particular phone number, both times from someone purporting to be from a bank where I hold an account. When I inquired about the purpose of their call, they insisted that they couldn’t divulge any information until they’d completed a security verification process. I made it clear that I wasn't comfortable proceeding with that, especially since I didn't recognise the number. They were fine with me calling back, and even offered to provide a contact number. When I asked for their name, on the second occasion I was told it was "Shamas." I pressed for a surname, but he refused to give it. At that point, I decided to hang up. Subsequently, I contacted my bank directly using a number I was familiar with, and they confirmed they had no record of any such calls being made. They didn’t recognise the number either, despite it being quite similar to one they use.
