I keep getting messages from some bank giving me PIN numbers for payments, but I’ve never even opened an account with them. I just ignore the texts and don’t respond.

I got a call from this number claiming to be HSBC. They said my account showed signs of fraud - turns out, there was actually some dodgy activity and they were the ones behind it!

This number was unfamiliar to me. The caller claimed to be from CashPlus, but it didn’t match the number I’ve used for Customer Service before. I didn’t provide any info and they ended the call. Soon after, I got a text asking me to ring CashPlus directly. Sounds like it might be a scam. Stay cautious, don’t share your details and avoid clicking on links in messages.

Lovely bloke who knew my name, general area I lived in, and even the last four numbers of my bank account. Told me they’d stopped a dodgy payment and to cancel my card, they’d send me a six digit code. Shortly after, I got a text with a code to confirm a payment, so they were definitely after the other half of my two-factor security. Total scam, but pretty smart. Don’t share any details with these people.

Got another call from an Indian scam outfit, this time pretending to be from the Citizen's Advice Bureau. Totally dodgy.

looks like this number belongs to cashplus. i rang them and sorted out what i needed, the guy on the line was quite polite. doesn't feel like any kind of scam but i wouldnt suggest using cashplus, they charge fees for your account and you cant cancel easily once you notice. the only option to cancel is by phoning this number.

This is definitely a con. It seems legit at first, especially with the number showing up as cashplus when you search it online. But dont be fooled, it’s a total scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from tsb about fraud on my account. They asked for the last four digits of my card and tried to confirm them. Thing is, the numbers they said weren’t mine at all. When i told them that, the person just said “ohh, uh ok” then dropped the call. Watch out everyone, this sounds dodgy.

Somebody phoned me saying they were from Monzo’s fraud team. He kept starting his sentences with “erm” and calling me “sir,” which made it clear pretty quick it was a dodgy call. The bloke wasn’t very convincing. He did know my full name and the last 4 digits of my account number though. I played along for about 5 minutes till he asked for my banking details. I just told him to cancel my card and send me a new one - that seemed to throw him off. The call didn’t go any further, but I reckon it was one of those ‘safe account’ scams.

cashplus, honestly, i am really unhappy with how they operate.

This company is a pain, honestly. I was supposed to get money from a client but they sent it back saying my limit's just £10k. It turned into a complete hassle - I had to open a new account and it took ages, like 3 months, to finally get the money in. The delay was all because of the client’s process, since Cashplus returned it without telling me a thing. And not a single call from them to explain or warn me. Proper frustrating!

Funny how the ones spreading all the panic about this crisis are the same folks glued to Facebook and binge-watching Reality TV all the time... who would've guessed!

Got a message saying to call a number to activate my cash plus card, and it even had some sort of security code included. Thing is, I don’t own a cash plus card, never have, and I’ve never asked for one either. Pretty sure it was a scam.
