Some bloke called himself MyDieselClaim or something like that and asked if I had a diesel car, how old it was and if I bought it brand new. He claimed that if I was eligible, I’d get some cash from the car maker within 2 to 6 months. I’ve never known anyone except VW owners actually get a payout, so I told him I didn’t buy it and ended the call.

I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t know, especially if they’re from areas I’ve never had any links with. If it’s something important, they’ll leave a voicemail and then I can decide whether to call back. Afterwards, I use this site to see if others have reported the number. Received a couple of calls about diesel emissions recently. They were asking for my car's registration details but I didn’t hand them over. Once they get that info, they’ve got everything - your name, address and obviously your phone number too. Watch out for this! Number was 0330 016 3819.

I just got a call from a number, 44 3300163819, with someone purporting to be from Diesel Claim. They were quite insistent on gathering personal details. Naturally, I rang up the Diesel Claims department straight away, and they reassured me to completely disregard it as a scam. They warned me not to share any of my personal information. The call, which took place today on the 30th of August, 2023, came from someone with a heavy foreign accent and their English was rather fragmented, which definitely raised my suspicions.
