Phone number ☎️ 03007906015 👆 is reported as associated with TV Licensing and its agent Capita, who send out red cards resembling Royal Mail missed delivery notices to properties without a registered TV licence. Recipients are urged to call the number, which leads to an official agency seeking to confirm licence status. While not a scam per se, many consider this tactic intrusive, misleading, and distressing, especially during the pandemic, as the cards lack clear identification and mimic official postal correspondence. Some suspect it facilitates data gathering or harassment. Users are advised to verify the authenticity before responding, avoid sharing personal information unnecessarily, and consider reporting suspicious activity to Action Fraud or local police. The number is legitimate but linked to aggressive and controversial enforcement practices that draw significant public criticism.

Got a note stuck through my letterbox from this number, 0300 790 6015, saying “Urgent reply needed, call now." I reckon this is really risky since scammers are actually turning up at people’s houses now. Definitely be careful with calls from this line!

No clue who they were since they never left a message. Seriously, what sort of British firm rings up and doesn't bother to leave a voicemail? Feels like it might have been an automated system just verifying numbers or something.

I totally agree with the post from 2nd April. These callers aren’t actually from TV Licensing, they’re just pretending to be. It’s just another scam, so don’t start shouting about TV Licensing itself. Just use a bit of common sense, yeah?

A mate of mine, who's a bit gullible, got one of these calls a few weeks back, he messaged me about it and I said it's a scam, told him not to ring back and just chuck it. Then I had one too, so I just popped it back in the mail with RETURN TO SENDER on it. Maybe if they keep getting these sent back, they'd stop, but I ain't holding my breath.

Hey all, THIS AINT the legit TV Licensing number, so stop freaking out. This is totally a scam. TV Licensing might have a close number but their support line is closed 'cause of the virus right now. Just ignore and delete it.

Honestly, folks, this ain't got nothing to do with the TV Licence folks in the UK. It's just scammers pretending to be legit, and this is just one of the numbers they keep using. Why arent the phone companies shutting these numbers down as soon as they find out? At least when I divert my landline to my mobile, Vodafone spots scam calls and lets me block ‘em. Since I diverted my landline, no dodgy calls have come through for months.

Warning to all - there's a rampant scam going around involving dodgy cards being posted through letterboxes in Seaford, Bishopstone, and nearby areas in East Sussex. It’s crucial to inspect your Ring doorbell footage or any CCTV you might have. If you happen to capture any images of the individuals responsible for this trickery, please report it to the police via email at [email protected] or through Action Fraud at https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/. Pro tip: Just rip the corner open and all the TV Licensing info pops out! Totally dodgy scam from TV Licensing. TV Licensing is absolute rubbish.

Its not a scam, its just TV Licensing. They wanna check who lives at the place, thats why theres no name on the card. If you manage to carefully open it, all the info is inside lol. Be careful coz if you phone them back, they got your number and might keep ringing you nonstop lol.

Just like the previous one, my package was left by Royal Mail, but it had 'NOT IN' stamped in massive red letters. What kind of mentality do these fraudsters possess when they attempt to scare those of us who are confined to our homes and contemplating our lives? Do they genuinely believe that instilling fear with these alarming red cards will somehow turn into a viable business strategy?

Blimey, if you rip at the edges of this pamphlet, you'll find all the details about the TV licence wedged away inside! It's stuck together to give the impression that it's nothing more than a simple card (think about it). Legally, they have to include that info, but who's to blame if they've gone and concealed it! What a ruse!

Wasn't long before I clocked this rubbish card was from TVL, maybe 30 seconds tops. If some other firm did this, they’d be slammed hard. But TVL’s mates with the BBC, the gov's mouthpiece, so it just slides. What a load of rubbish stunt, I’m not giving them a penny. I got a dodgy card from someone saying it was from "Royal Mail" telling me I'd missed a parcel. It looked suspicious so I took it to the post office and they confirmed it was a fake. Do NOT ring the number on the card (03007906015). The card was red and white with a barcode and said "NOT IN? - Please contact us ASAP". It also gave times to call Mon-Fri 8.30am-6.30pm and Sat 8.30am-1pm, plus some fake serial number like Dm43380/002003556117. These people are scammers trying to get your phone details and charge you. I’ve had an encounter with those TV licence charlatans, and it’s absolutely infuriating! They operate on this bizarre notion that simply having an address means you’re in possession of a telly. Honestly, what kind of twisted logic is that? It’s astonishing that the government just lets them carry on with this harassment. As for television itself, it’s clearly on a downward spiral! I say let it collapse sooner rather than later - it won’t be a moment too soon!

Its awful how the BBC is exploiting the COVID crisis. They've made it look exactly like a letter from the Post Office about collections. What an absolutely revolting surprise to find on my doorstep amidst this ongoing pandemic. It’s crafted to appear as though it was hand-delivered, creating the illusion of urgency-especially during these times when anything might be genuinely critical. Nevertheless, it turns out it was shoved through by the Royal Mail. Nowhere does it identify itself on the leaflet either. As someone who's managed to dodge the telly since the nineties and who can't seem to rid myself of these blithering fools no matter the effort, I’m utterly appalled by the appalling timing of this insidious piece of junk mail.

Had a call from TV licensing early this morning around 8:30, nearly phoned the number back but thought I'd better look it up first. Good thing I did, so heads up everyone, watch out for the TV licence calls!

Just got a call from someone pretending to be from the TV licence office - total scam!

Utterly appalling. This kind of harassment being allowed by a government body is just shocking. My nana was left scared and confused, thinking she’d messed up somehow. I’m definitely going to report this to the proper authorities. It’s blatantly trying to trick people into thinking it’s an official Royal Mail letter.

This 03007906015 number is definitely from TV Licensing. I haven’t had a telly for over 40 years and honestly never wanted one. I don’t stream or download anything, and I’m not a fan of the BBC. I told them this before, but they keep sending me scary letters. When you try calling them, they just tell you to email instead - not happening! Then they just end up with your email. Best to just ignore them.

Got loads of letters telling me I needed a tv licence, even tho I don’t own a telly, and that someone from the authorities would come to my door. So far, nothing has come of it and I’ve just ignored all the letters. Now, out of nowhere, I get a bogus Royal Mail card pretending to be a missed delivery note. Feels like straight up harassment to me.

Indeed, that number belongs to Capita TV Licensing - it goes straight to their line. Their tactics are downright underhanded, and it feels like an attempt to fraudulently acquire your contact details. I strongly encourage anyone who’s experienced this to take a stand and file a report on a site called Action Fraud. Just head over to the 'Report a phishing attempt' section under the 'Report' fraud tab. If enough individuals come forward, they’ll actually investigate this shabby behaviour.

Absolutely! That number is linked to Capita's TV licensing. It's quite scandalous and underhanded, really - they seem intent on tricking people into giving up their contact details. I strongly recommend that anyone who's been approached in this way takes the time to file a report on a website named Action Fraud. Simply select the "Report a phishing attempt" option under the fraud reporting section. If enough of us raise our voices, they might take notice of this shady practice!

Just a heads up, if you open that red card, youll find it's from TV LICENSING.

I received a rather dubious call from Capita regarding my television licence. Quite the cheeky move, if you ask me!

Got the exact same red card here, and I’m not waiting on any parcels. Total scam. I’m not bothering to call them, cheers everyone for putting your stories up.

Really not the best way to go about it, Capita. If you'd sent me even one polite letter, you wouldn't be after someone who hasn't got a TV or streams anything online.

This number turns up on cards that Capita posts to places not listed as having TV licences. The cards try to mimic the "sorry I missed you" notes from posties, with what looks like handwritten details. Best to ring the number only if you haven't got a TV licence and need to get one.

Got a leaflet through the door from this number claiming it was urgent and from the post office. Felt a bit dodgy so I didn’t bother calling them back.

Got a call from 03007906015 about a missed parcel, they left a fake Royal Mail ‘not in’ card at my place. Rang the number back and it was clear right away it was a scam.

The postcode on the top left of the red card, DL98 1AT, is actually for TV Licensing. Honestly, don’t bother ringing them - it's a waste of both your time and money.

Just got that same dodgy Royal Mail message, lucky i looked it up here first. To the person saying it’s safe, honestly this is proper harassment and pretty gross. Honestly, stick your TV license where the sun don’t shine.

I just received mine today, and I’m quite relieved I took the time to investigate beforehand. I had my doubts about that vague card right from the start. It didn’t occur to me that it could actually be opened until I stumbled upon the discussions here.

Just got a call from someone saying "Not in" about 10 minutes ago, looks like BBC is asking for donations again.

Just got this a minute ago. With everything happening atm, I was honestly worried it was something from the NHS. Probably why they’re doing this, taking advantage of the whole virus situation. At first I thought it was written by hand but upon closer inspection, nah, it’s printed. Definitely a proper scam. The return address says Darlington DL98 1AT. Yep, that’s where my junk’s ending up now.

This aint just annoying now. Pretending to be from a delivery company is a proper con. Marked it as risky since this kinda stuff shouldnt be allowed.

I got a red and white card that said 'NOT IN?' which seemed handwritten, dropped off at my place. At first glance, it looked like one of those missed delivery notes from Royal Mail. It had this phone number 03007906015 and a return address listed as Darlington DL98 1AT, but when I checked it, it’s actually the address for TV Licensing returns.

Looks like they’ve been blasting these out all day judging by how many comments there are and when they’ve all popped up. I don’t have a TV licence and don’t plan on getting one, so it’s pretty annoying to keep getting hassled about it. Thanks for sharing your stories folks.

That’s Capita for you, not a scam or anything dodgy. It’s sent through Royal Mail to homes that don’t have a TV licence listed. Basically, they’re just checking if you actually need one. Bit annoying that Capita has to do this at all, but if there weren’t so many folks watching telly without a licence, it wouldn’t be needed.

So, I got one of those red cards that look like they're from Royal Mail saying I wasnt in when they tried to deliver something. It had a number on it, 0300 790 6015, asking me to ring back urgently. After looking into it, I didnt bother calling them - seems dodgy. The postcode on the card matches the Capita mail sorting centre, which might be linked to TV licensing or something. Just thought I'd warn others to be careful!

Don't bother calling that number. It shows up on a tiny card pretending you missed a parcel delivery, almost like it's from Royal Mail. But trust me, it ain't Royal Mail at all. Just ignore that number on the card.
