I’ve noticed that someone seems to be misusing my phone number, claiming that I’ve made calls when in fact I haven’t touched my home phone! This has been happening for several months now, and I recently got a call from Sky, who mentioned it was from a care line, but I really don’t believe that! It feels like this is happening from a distance, as I can assure you, I haven’t made any calls on my landline. I’m working on retrieving my Sky bill to forward it to the care line, just in case there’s any connection, though I’m quite sceptical about that!

It appears on my mum's phone bill incessantly, day in and day out. I can’t fathom the reason behind it. I tried giving the number a ring, but it didn’t connect. She has an alarm system in place. I reckon I should reach out to the service provider for some clarity.

I've noticed this particular number cropping up consistently on my mum's phone bill. Could it possibly be a scam?

It appears that the number in question is affiliated with a careline telephone service, which caters to the needs of senior citizens. It's quite feasible that the older individual may be inadvertently activating the call button, or perhaps there's an issue with the equipment, or some other factor at play. In this instance, the service provider we dealt with is Argenti, which numerous County Councils rely on for their careline solutions. Just to clarify, the specific number associated with our situation is 0300 777 1038. However, do exercise caution and refrain from jumping to conclusions regarding any other 0300 numbers, as they could potentially be linked to scammers!

I had a look into this, and it seems to be a response from a company that provides alarms for the elderly. It might be worth ensuring that your loved ones aren’t unintentionally activating their alarm system by mistake.

I've got this bizarre number on my bill - a whopping 17 times! I've attempted to call it back, but all I get is this irritating mix of squeaks and whistles. Completely bemused by the whole affair!

My aged parents have been harassed by this number, and they’ve ended up racking up charges for trying to return the calls. Both of them are suffering from dementia, so they’re utterly confused about the nature of these calls.

For the past four months, my Sky bill has inexplicably included charges exceeding £20. The strange thing is, I’ve never used the landline. How can I resolve this and prevent these charges from recurring? The number associated with this issue is 03007771038. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Similar to what ‘Anonymous’ mentioned back on the 22nd of April, 2018, my aged mother, who suffers from dementia, has found herself facing an exorbitant bill due to 126 so-called 'Special Service' calls she supposedly made. The truth is, she hardly knows how to operate the phone. It looks as though these reverse calls are draining her finances. This feels like a con or, at the very least, some dubious marketing tactics. I urge everyone to scrutinise their bills closely.

I've been going through my late mother's phone statements, and honestly, it's quite shocking how steep the charges are, especially since she hardly made any calls. There’s a whole bunch of entries listed as 'calls to' this ‘Special Service’ number. It's utterly baffling! What on earth is BT doing about this apparent con? It seems absolutely nothing at all!

I noticed this number on my phone bill, showing as a call I've supposedly made. Quite baffling, as I haven't a clue who it belongs to and I certainly didn’t ring it.

I've been getting calls from this number quite a few times now. Is there a way to put an end to it?

I’ve noticed several calls coming from this number, which is odd since I don’t even own a landline. After a bit of a wait on hold, I managed to speak to someone at Vodafone. They suggested that it was likely a scam and mentioned that this had been going on for the past four months! It’s a good job I didn’t have a phone to pick up, as it would’ve racked up quite the bill. I’m delighted to report that Vodafone has resolved the issue by blocking the number and even reimbursing me. A big thank you to the Vodafone team for their assistance!

Receiving calls multiple times throughout the day, and I'm inclined to think it’s another telemarketer or possibly a scam. I have no intention of picking up!
