I rang back this number, thinking it was the hospital reaching out to me. In my haste, I dialled it back, only to discover it was the television licensing people! I felt utterly daft for panicking over that. All this fuss over a new payment card is just infuriating. My mobile is essential for me, while the TV license feels rather trivial since I've already paid up until 2017. Now they want me to cough up more cash for 2018? It seems nothing more than a blatant money grab, driven by sheer greed!

It's astonishing how they call us and somehow manage to bill us for the privilege. Is that even legal?

I can't believe we got hit with a bill of 68p plus VAT just for a paltry six minutes on the phone to this number. I thought 0300 numbers were meant to be free like the 0800 ones! The TV licensing folks are well aware of this loophole and yet somehow rake in millions by using this number-cheeky blighters! By the way, I discovered that dialing 084577289289 connects you to them at no cost if you’ve got a Virgin landline, so take that, TV licensing! You won't be robbing us of our hard-earned cash any longer!
