Got a call in the evening, around 7:20pm, from someone speaking with an accent. The name they gave didn’t match up with mine at all. I think they mentioned something about medical stuff but wasn’t really paying full attention. I ended the call pretty quick, after babbling nonsense about not having much money and being too busy to chat. Figured it was best to get off any scammer’s radar asap.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, threatening legal action over unpaid National Insurance contributions.

I’m convinced this bloke’s a scammer using info from nearby health services. He seemed to know loads about the person I care for, like her dementia and that she’s disabled. Most of his questions were about money. He kept ringing her and had all her medical info. Then he started asking about finances and said he was from the local council, but wouldn’t tell us which one. Pretty obvious scam but weird and worrying how they got hold of such private medical info.
