Got a voicemail that said it was from HMRC, sounded pretty urgent. Didn't stick around to hear the full message, so not sure what kind of threats or warnings it was about. Seemed dodgy to me.

Got a robo call from this number a moment ago claiming to be HMRC, saying there’s some fraud linked to me. They asked me to “press 1” to find out more but I just ended the call straight away. The real HMRC have my address, they’d send a letter if they needed to speak to me. Honestly, these scammers should stop wasting time and find a proper job contributing to society instead of bothering honest folks!

Got a call which said I owed money to HMRC and that if I didn’t sort it, there’d be an arrest warrant out for me. They wanted me to press 1 to talk to someone about paying the supposed tax I hadn’t paid. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from some guy claiming to be an HMRC officer called Tommy, with a really heavy Indian accent. He threatened that I’d end up in prison if I didn’t pay some supposed unpaid taxes straight away. Complete rubbish. I guess some folks might actually believe him though - it’s quite scary, to be fair. I just blocked the number - total con, no doubt about it! Definitely report it so others don’t get caught out!

I just had a call from some scammers in India pretending to be HMRC. The voice was all robotic, saying stuff about tax fraud. Heads up - HMRC always contacts you through letters, never this way! Don’t even think about pressing option 1, just hang up quick. Total HMRC scam!

Loads of folks get random calls claiming HMRC's looking into them. If you haven’t got a way to check who’s really on the other end, it’s best to just hang up and not chat.

This sounds like the classic HMRC automated message scam. Likely a fake number is being used to trick people into answering. If they manage to fool even one individual, they could drain that person's bank account completely, making a tidy bit of money from it! We all know about these scams, but imagine if someone elderly or vulnerable ends up answering - that’s really worrying.
