Got a call earlier from someone saying they were HMRC, telling me I was involved in a fraud case. It was an automated message at first, then put me on hold and passed me to a bloke who claimed I hadn't paid enough tax and that I’d face court action. I told them that if that were true, I’d have got a letter by now, but I hadn’t received anything at all. After that, they just hung up on me. Pretty clear scam, pretending to be HMRC.

Got a call a few minutes ago from someone claiming to be from HMRC. They told me I’ve got a warrant out and said if I don’t pay £750 today, I’m looking at a £9000 fine and five years in jail for defrauding the government. Really hope this is a scam because it sounded pretty serious. The number was 03002006287.
