A call supposedly from HMRC claiming fraud rang my husband’s phone. When he asked the caller to confirm their number, he mentioned that he had contacted the police and then hung up. Will this end up costing my husband anything?

I received a rather dubious call from what appears to be a company engaged in tax fraud. An automated message informed me that if I didn't press 1 to speak with someone, I could expect to be arrested imminently! Quite brazen, if you ask me!

Received a call from this number five times, but I only caught it once while I was dozing off with a migraine. After doing a bit of digging, I've noticed that this number appears to be associated with scams or fakes. Unfortunately, I didn’t pick up in time, and as soon as I did, the ringing stopped. It’s quite easy these days for anyone to create a so-called "free call number", but they tend to charge between 13p to 23p per minute if you’re calling from a mobile, or use up your bundled minutes. They’re likely banking on the fact that folks will call back, hence why they drop the call as soon as you pick up.
