I picked up and a voice recording started saying that HMRC had flagged some fraud linked to me. It told me to "press 1 to talk to someone and sort it out or risk being arrested soon." It was proper scary and made me wonder how they even got hold of my phone number.

I got a call from someone claiming HMRC was going to arrest me for fraud, but it was obviously a scam. Don’t trust this number at all!
